We liked Chateau Briand tremendously, but didn't think there were really any good places to take pics (compared to Fox Hollow and Jericho Terrace), especially if the weather is poor. They do provide a photo studio, which is very nice, but I don't think it would make for any sort of special pictures. Does anyone here think this place is good for photo's? If so, please let me know some specific places in the building or post some pics.

You can always do pics elsewhere, they dont always have to be taken at the RH. I got married at Jericho terrace but didnt want to take my pics there, instead i did 2 outside locations, both in LIC. I did gantry park and 5 points bc it was more the type of pics i wanted.
In LI if you like gardens you can do old westbury gardens or garden city gazebo, plus theres lots of outside locations you can choose from.

I am having my reception at CB and I am not in love with their photo studio either...but I do like the lobby and the staircase and there are some photo ops outside in the new patio area. You are not going to get like the park look as you would at Fox Hollow- but I am going to either the Garden city gazebo or eisenhower park...both are within 5 min of CB

The outside has great photo spots, stairs, piano, walls, and 2 studios. Also you can go to Westbury Gardens

I agree there are a lot of local places that make great photo shoots, and the outdoor ceremony area at Chateau Briand is very nice. My main concern is if the weather is bad, and therefore outdoor shots at CB and all the local places aren't available. I agree the staircase is nice, but you can only take so many shots there.

My sister got married at chateau briand last year, and her pics from the photo studio came out really nice. That was pretty much all she did for pics after the getting ready shots and church shots, and they were able to get a lot of shots and they were all pretty different. Could it be better? Sure. But there's lots worse RHs than chateau briand in terms of pics.

When we booked, I started looking around and making mental notes of places to take pics...obviously the staircase, the tall metal artwork on the wall below the staircase, the waterfall out front, the pianos, the new outdoor area. Also, i guess if there is a room that is not being used, you can always see if you can take pics in there as well.
There are a few past brides that got married at the CB on these boards. Search the Brides Review section and look at their pics for inspiration. You can always talk to your photographer and see if he/she has shot there before bc im sure they know some good areas as well. Good luck!!
