I read some awesome reviews recently. That place so far is #1 on my list, but with my schedule i haven't been able to go see it yet. Anyone have an opinions on this place? I would love to hear reviews on food....food is MOST important in my book. THANKS!

Re: Chateau La Mer
I'm getting married there July 2011. So far they have been incredible, very informative, helpful respectful. Totally worth EVERY penney i'm spending there. As far as the food goes delicious! The taste testing was great there, they let you try everything and of course it was open bar.:)

Thats so great to hear! A lot of the reviews are from a few years ago and i wanna get some more recent stuff. When do they usually do their tastings? I'm a physican and have a horrible schedule.
Thanks!

I'm getting married there in 53 days (but whose counting?)
I have no complaints yet. Everyone there has been very helpful on and the ball with everything. The tasting/food is amazing.
They just re modeled the upstairs room where i'm getting married and it looks so amazing.
And might I add, what a view!

Re: Chateau La Mer
We looked at Chateau La Mer when we were looking at RH. I LOVED it but FH thought it looked old I totally don't understand how he could think that-I thought it was beautiful even on a cloudy cold day in November when we were there.
We met with Nick and he was great. They were the only RH that was going to let FH's daughter eat for FREE (we have to pay $40 for her to eat chicken fingers and french fries at our wedding ) and they were also the only RH that called to follow up with us and offered to work with us on price. I didn't taste the food but I've heard tons of good things about it from the LIW girls and also some of my coworkers.

Re: Chateau La Mer
I went to a wedding there in May and am going to one next Friday. It was very nice...I loved that it was on the water...so pretty! Not going to lie this bothered me...I wanted to take pics outside with FH and the maitre d escorted us inside because there was another wedding and their cocktail hour going on. So we had to wait an hour to take pics by the water. But, this is something that obv comes along with multiple weddings going on. Also...my FH was best man and was making his speech...and the waiter was trying to take his salad and I asked him not to...and the waiter aggressigvely said 'Pasta is coming out in 5 mins'. We're at a wedding not applebees. And they cleared the dishes by the tables...they didn't just take the dishes directly into the kitchen. But I've seen hte waiters do this at other places too and it kinda makes me cringe!
Overall though, it was a very nice wedding. The food was good and the set up was fun! They had a photo booth which is always a good time :)
Hope this helps! The negative feedback can be discussed with the hall prior to the wedding...so its not even a big deal...just giving a heads up!

im getting married there in June of next year.. definatly take some time to go see it!! and with out a doubt go to their food tasting.. it might just sell you.... They have been nothing but helpful with all the questions i have had and i do believe as the date gets closer and i get a little more neurotic they will be just as helpful!!

Re: Chateau La Mer
mavrovouni thanks so much, i appreciate hearing the negatives about a place so i can bring it up with them. I wonder if i guarantee a certain number of people if we can get the entire hall....ive seen that at a few places.

Re: Chateau La Mer
Do think if we guarantee like 300-350 people they will give us the entire place to ourselves, my only worry is other weddings taking up my space (i'm selfish haha)

I doubt they would give you the entire place. When I got there for my wedding (night) there was an event finishing in my room (upstairs) and event almost over downstairs (big room) and another event in the chapel room downstairs.
300-350 people will not cover all that money. At night though I have never seen them book more than 2 events and as a bride I never saw the other party.....you are too busy with your own event.
And as for the waiters clearing the dishes at the table....they may have but once again the day of your wedding you don't have time to notice anything that minute of a detail. My day was a blur cause so much is happening.
