Hi guys, I am having my wedding at the Chateau La Mer in July and now I'm worried about the heat. I went to a wedding there on Sunday and it felt like the AC wasn't even on - everyone was warm. Granted there were like 270 people there so maybe that's why but I would hate for everyone to be sweating especially since it will be July!!! We're having our ceremony outside at the place, does anyone know if they can put up fans during the ceremony so that it's not that hot?? I just don't want my guests to be sweating : ( I know i should have thought about that before I booked a July wedding.

Re: Chateau La Mer
Was it hot in the main ballroom or the CH?? I just got married there in August, and it was rainy so we had to have everyone inside during CH. It was like a sauna! I had to leave because I felt horrible for my guests and it was making me anxious. Thankfully, the main ballroom was cold and the guests were raving about the food so the hot hour CH was ok. I figured it would have been better if we had indoor/outdoor since it's 200 people.
270 seems too much for that room. how many guests do you have? I know they say that room can hold 300, but I wouldnt put more than 220 in there IMO.
Talk to Nick about your concerns. Again, the CH was a sauna and my only complaint about CLM. The service, food, experience was A+++++++++
Dont know about fans...def talk to Nick. good luck!!

Re: Chateau La Mer
The main ballroom was hot. I plan on having around 150 so that will be less body heat lol. I agree with you I know they said 300 but it was definitely cramped in there with 270, have no idea where they would have put everyone if they had 300. So glad that overall your experience was great! I love Nick - he is soo nice and I definitely will let him know my concerns with that. Who did you use for Flowers? And Limos?

Re: Chateau La Mer
You should be completely fine with 150..The main ballroom was FINE...not hot at all in August when it was humid and rainy and gross out. The CH should be fine too with that amount of people. Hopefully, you have a nice day too! It really is such an amazing place. Nick is great to work with, and everyone kept telling us we had the best wedding ever. Soooo much fun and such good food/service. I want to go to a wedding there now!
Flowers- a local shop but they were AWESOME. beautiful work and great prices...Flower Shop of Farmingdale on Main Street.
a lot better prices than the one CLM recommends
Limos- Tran Star Executive...They had the best prices. We had some annoyances with that company (check my review), but day of they were perfect and you cant beat the price!
Good luck!!!!!!!

I love CLM! Wut is the minimum for the room down stairs? I don't think I am going to have a large wedding but I LOVE that room!

Re: Chateau La Mer
We're having our wedding in that big room and only had to guarantee 125 for our 4th of July wedding. I think normally you have to guarantee 150 for that room. We worked with Nick and he is a sweetheart! Good luck with your planning and feel free to fm for any other info.
