So im thinking about going with CLM but i am turned off by the $300 set up fee they are charging! i went to about 10 other reception hall venues and this is the first time i have heard of a SETUP fee??? did anyone else feel this was weird...??

Is the setup fee for ceremony?
I know all places I visited had a $500-$1500 ceremony fee.

Set up fee? Now I am going to get my contract! lol
there is nothing about a $300 set up fee. There is a $300 Maitre'D Fee, that might be what you are looking at?

Mine said nothing about a matri'd fee. Only says 1000 initial deposit and a 300 setup fee. :/
What is a maitr'd fee anyway ? Aren't we supposed to just give them tip after? Is yours in lieu of the tip... Or u still have to give additional tip as well?
I'm still confused about the 300 setup fee. Maybe it's a.typo and really the maitr'd fee

I pulled out our 'estimate' they gave us from when we first visited and my contract- both have printed Maitre'D Fee on it. I'm not seeing a place that is typed Set Up Fee. Let me know where they have it written and maybe I can help you. Or as ddms said, you can call and ask.

It was on my estimate, no where did it say maitr'd fee. I guess they changed that to a 'setup' fee recently!!!!!
I have to ask though, what the heck is a maitr'd fee?? No other venues added this either! Aren't they supposed to just get a tip after?
