Chateau La Mer flooded?

Chateau La Mer flooded?

Someone just told me that they saw a bride on the news talking about how her wedding was supposed to be there today and that the RH was ruined. Does anyone have any information? I'm getting married in less than three weeks. I can't imagine not being able to get married there because of this storm damage.

I bet it is flooded

I'd check in with them this week

I would think that it is flooded. I live in Lindenhurst and south of me is pretty flooded. They showed Shore Rd on the news(which is right near Cheateau) and there were people in Kayaks. But give them a call

Tried calling but no answer. We took a drive down there and it seems like all they got so far is just about an inch of water in the basement. Nothing that would affect the wedding reception. Just the bridal suite downstairs, the hall for the ceremony inside, and the offices maybe. And hopefully they don't store too many things down there.

Yes! I just looked it up. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1ebptUiI8s

I feel so terrible for the girl who was supposed to get married today :o(

Anything that is damaged will get fixed right away, I'm sure. Also, even if the deck got flooded you have to remember that there are steps leading from the reception room level, down to the deck where cocktail hour is. They may have to replace the carpets downstairs, but I cant imagine the whole place being shot. Any place that is right on the water like they are had to take the appropriate precautions so they may have put away some furniture, etc. Let us know if anyone hears back from them for more details about any damage!

Oh my god!

I feel so bad for that couple. Hopefully everything is replaced / fixed soon so that it doesn't interferer with other weddings.

Ugh I feel terrible. Hopefully they get it up and running before other LIW Brides weddings.

As far as calling them the power is probably still out. I know a few people that live in that area and still have no power so you'll probably have to give it a few days to get up and running. If it's just the basement that got ruined I'm sure they will still be able to make your wedding magical. Just anything that goes on in the basement might take a week or so to get it up and running. Unfortunately they probably have to go through their insurance which a lot of companies say it could take about a week for someone to get out there. Just try not to stress to much, I'm sure they will do whatever they can for you

Well I haven't called them today because I felt pretty confident after seeing it that it would be okay by the time we had our wedding. But they did call me today and left a message to get my final head count and let me know final payment is due this weekend.
Guess everything will be ok

I really think everything will be fine by this weekend. I also think I'd be glad I wasn't the girl getting married today or yesterday.

I hope the hall has the means to give them another un-booked date, especially since she was getting married on a weekday.

Re: Chateau La Mer flooded?

Not sure if this helps or not but I was on Montauk Highway today and we passed the turn to get there (a half a mile away) and everything looked pretty much in working order. I could see into one empty storefront that water had made it into, and the only remnant of the storm was a small puddle (like as if someone spilled a cup of water), and that was in a building that was only a half a mile away. So my thought is that things are pretty much under control, or at least getting there. HTH!

I've worked as a vendor at CLM and their kitchen is in the basement. I'm sure that by your wedding though everything should be fine. Let us know when you get in touch with them. Good luck
