Hi! I'd love to hear from brides who had the upstairs room at Chateau La Mer and how that went, with another wedding going on downstairs. Was it an issue for guests to go outside? Didi they have the patio all night? I read another review and it said in the downstairs room you have the run of the place, so iIm worried this might be an issue ... thanks!!!

Re: Chateau La Mer upstairs room
I went to a wedding there last year. I don't know which room we were in (don't know the venue)but we were outside with the guests from the other wedding. In fact we were very friendly with the other guests...so much so that a few of the guests from my wedding (not I) were so busy talking to the other guests that they missed some of the reception.

Re: Chateau La Mer upstairs room
My friends wedding was in the upstairs room on the 27th of May, The only time i saw people from the other wedding was when we went outside to smoke or to use the downstairs bathrooms. However the downstairs wedding started before my friend ceremony (which was outside) and all during the vows we could here disco music coming from the other party (like 'I will survive' and 'its raining men'). And at one point a bridesmaid from the other party started dancing at the window and we could all see..

Re: Chateau La Mer upstairs room
Well we got married in the downstairs room & were assured that the outside patio was ours for the night. It turns out we ended up being the only wedding so I can't truthfully answer how it typically works.

same thing happened when I went to a wedding there. I went to a sunday afternoon wedding and during the ceremony (indoors) we heard the music from the other party held in the downstairs room. we were one floor below them for the ceremony.

Re: Chateau La Mer upstairs room
My girlfriend's bridal shower was held in the room upstairs and I remember the only time we ran into other people or even saw another function going on was when we were walking out to the patio.
We took a few pics outside on the patio during her shower which leads me to believe that it was okay for us to use the patio b/c nobody said anything.
HTH..

We also went out to the patio during the night, however by the time i went out the other party ended, but i know other people were going out all night long to smoke.

Re: Chateau La Mer upstairs room
If you have your wedding in a warm month no problems since its outside. But i remember out the WOTY you heard the people upstairs setting up during the mock ceremony. I am getting married most likely inside and hope there is no other function is going on above me but if it is.. oh well too late IoI
But if you are upstairs room like i am the bathrooms are upstairs so the only time you run into anyone is if your outside but that really isn't too much of a an issue .
