Chateau La Mer vs. Jericho Terrace

Based on food and service, which one do you rate higher?

Re: Chateau La Mer vs. Jericho Terrace

I was never at a wedding at JT but went to an event there and it was nice....I wasnt blown away by it but I wouldnt cross it off my list either if it was on there.

I had my wedding at CLM and I do not have a single bad thing to say about it. The service is beyond any wedding I have ever experienced. The food was amazing at the tasting and I didnt really get to eat at my wedding but what I did get to taste was amazing. DH loved it all and was eating the entire night.
And when I started looking CLM wasnt on my list cause its really not my style but the view and the food changed my mind really quick and Im so glad I did.

I have not been to an event at either location but i did *try* to look into CLM for my wedding...

FH and I had a 430pm appt...when we made the appt they asked how many guests we were thinking of having - ok fine seems standard enough. we got there and they whad just begun a sweet 16 party. There were guests in the lobby which is where they told us to sit and wait. We felt terrible sitting there as all of the guests were there but had no choice...then the sweet 16 girl was being introduced into the room so she was with her family and the photographer as FH and i sit there in jeans...again feeling out of place and bad that we were intruding. As we sat there waiting, a young girl (im guessing 16 yrs old) walks in and was not lets say 'appropriately dressed' (short tight mini skirt) and the man at the coat check was obviously checking her up and down and put her arm around her...skeeved me out!
At 5pm we are STILL waiting for our appt so we then asked how much longer and she didnt know...we then asked which room holds 200+ people and they told us it was the one that had the sweet 16 taking place so we wouldnt be able to see the room. needless to say we left because we would never book a place without seeing the room and we were frustrated after having a 30 minute wait. We did not call back to meet with them again. why would they let us schedule an appt knowing the room we would need wouldnt be available to see???

a friend of a friend is having their wedding their this august, and loves the place. I am one for first impressions and this did not make a good one to me.

Thank god im not the only one who didnt have a stellar experience there.

We went to see it bc its up the block from my office and i thought they were really pushy.

I did think it was nice that they invited us for a tasting before we even booked though.

Also, if you have older guests that cant do stairs, they dont have an elevator.

We also need to have the ceremony there and i didnt want to get married in a basement if it rained.

Thats just my opinion.

I am booked at Chateau La Mer and I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Nick is amazing to deal with.

We went for the food tasting with our parents and we were all blown away by the amazing food and service.

Good luck with your decision!!

This is what REALLY sold me. I always looked at JT as a wedding factory of sorts, but that was not the case. They really make you feel at home and like your wedding is important and should be unique! After our BM mentioned having an Irish mixed grill at CH, we were definitely sold!

CLM is awesome. Nick is amazing to deal with. I've never had a problem with them, FH and I call them constantly asking questions, even the silliest of questions and they always take the time to call us back if they cant answer or schedule an appointment to see us so we can work out any concerns we may have had.

The food there is absolutely amazing and the Chef was amazing to meet. At the tasting last month my FH and I had to bring his 5 year old daughter because we could not find a babysitter and we only see her every other weekend. So Nick and the Chef went out of their way to make a special plate for her. They offered her chicken fingers and she demanded a hot dog, so the chef specially made hot dogs and french fries for her. She was so happy and ate it all up.

I have never been to an affair at either location but we looked at both. We were totally blown away with CLM ( obvi. we booked there). We really liked JT at first but i was not thrilled with the fact that JT has numerous affairs going on at once and it is also right on a main road. JT was also a lot more expensive pp than CLM and i didnt feel like they offered as much on the menu. The food at CLM is amazing and i just really loved the location. JMO

Either one would be a great choice though!

GOOD LUCK!!
