Chateau Le Mar question

Chateau Le Mar question

I have booked Chateau Le Mar for the wedding but I am not sure about the boat arrival that is included in the wedding package. If anyone has done the boat arrival, I would appreciate your input on some of my concerns and hearing about your experience. I went to see it and it looks very awkward. The boat seems to sit low compared to the dock. It looks like the bride has to climb 2 rungs n the ladder to get to the dock. My gown has a decent train on it, I will be wearing open toe shoes, and I’m not that tall to begin with. Plus the opening by the ladder looks small. Also, they have the guests wait on the dock for the arrival making a small dock even more crowded. I am also concerned that my hair will get destroyed by the wind on the boat. The boat that I saw also did not have any covering over the bride and groom so the sun would be beating down on us since we will be having an afternoon wedding in the summer. Thanks for you help.

I didnt get to do it because of the weather during my CH, but if you're so worried, just dont do it. Personally, the yacht arrival was one of the reasons we booked CLM.

Fh and I have seen two brides to the boat arrival. You honestly just walk to the dock get on a boat drive through the marina then out to the bay just for a bit and drive around in circles for a bit in front of everyone in the back of the place.

He doesn't go very fast but yes you do need to climb up a few steps to get to the dock. I would of done it but its not available in march - I didn't see the girls hair get all messy when she got out of the boat.

My sister was married at CLM in July of 2005 and she did the boat arrival- it was great! All of the guests (especially the out-of-towners) thought it was great! And it was!! They definitely helped her in and out of the boat- they have great pics with them on the water. Check out her profile- she has pictures in there. Her name is jeanla4c- or you can FM her- she is very helpful.

PS- you are getting married on my birthday!! I am praying for good weather

I went to go look at CLM..and when they told me about the Yatch arrival, I had the same thoughts as you. I was also scared of getting a little motion sickness, especially because of all the butterflies I would have that day + the champagne. They told me that they never really have any probs, of course there's been a few, but for most brides it was a beautiful and unique memory..so just do what you feel comfortable with.

I don't think there's a better way to show up at your reception!

Ha I didn't even THINK about it--just wanted to have the boat arrival....honestly being out there on the water with my DH was one of my fav parts of our wedding day---getting out looked like it would be a bit tough--they were like 'you are okay if you can see your feet' I couldn't --but they helped me completely and it was fine!
