Prior to booking we had a tasting with some of the cocktail hour food. I have been to many functions there so I really did not ask for a full tasting since I have had the food many times.
i booked with them on a wednesday and had a food tasting that weekend.
I insisted that I needed a food tasting prior to booking. That is the only reason I received one! You will get a food tasting before your wedding when you go back to make your food selection. Call them to see if you can schedule one sooner if you really wan to. I am very picky and can ensure you that the food is very good!
We had to do our food tastings after we booked b/c FH wasn't in town. When we requested it, our BM told us that they really don't do tastings but they'll do one for us and made it seem like they were going out of their way for us....which I thought was weird bc I read that a lot of LIW girls do them. When we had our tasting, it wasn't what I expected. It was pretty much a very small sample of cocktail hour and we did not get to sample many of the items that we saw in the menu that we were interested in. Don't get me wrong, the food was really good, but we still kind of feel a little blind going to choose stations and chafing dishes. But my MOH went to a bunch of events there so we're heavily relying on her.
