Are you booking a block of rooms for your guests? And if so, what hotel are you choosing? I have heard that the Best Western provides a free shuttle to and from the RH. Any reviews on this hotel?

I am so new to this room blocking thing! Did you just call and ask to speak to someone about it or did you personally book them in person? Do you pay upfront for the rooms or do they just hold them until a certain date. One last question i promise! If you dont mind me asking what was the price range of the rooms you booked?

Re: CHCC brides
I went down and said that I was thinking about doing a room block with them. The person who handles it was not in (ray) but they showed me the rooms. I called and spoke with Ray for the details. With Fox Hollow I had to guarantee 60% of the rooms I blocked so we only took a small room block to start. But you do not pay upfront. You would only have to pay if you don't have at least 60 percent booked with guests. I can increase it if there are still rooms available at the hotel. The fox hollow includes a shuttle and breakfast in the morning. We a paying 160 a night but we are getting married on a Friday so I do not know if that makes a difference
Feel free to ask any other questions

Would you be able to book as little as 5 rooms. I am very interested in this. I looked at their website and it looks beautiful and CLEAN I am going to have to contact them. We are getting married on a Saturday so I am sure it might be around the same if not a bit higher.

I don't know if they have a minimum but doesn't hurt to ask. I would assume it would be alittle higher on a Saturday. Also you probably wont get as good a price with a small room block

Re: CHCC brides
i booked mine at the hilton garden inn on round swamp road. it is a few minutes away, but i needed a hotel that allows smoking and hilton is one of the few chains that allows it.
it is relatively new so the rooms are nice; although slightly small. and they have a shuttle for $300 to rent

Call Ray for a quote. It may not be $179. I do not know if they give you more of a discount if you are booked at Fox Hollow.
Few things I have learned with wedding planning:
1. You say the word wedding and it is more expensive.
2. There is alot of factors when you get a quote.... time of week, number of things needed, etc.

my block is at the hampton inn jericho-westbury
they have a free shuttle that you can pass off the cost to your guests
only downside of the hotel is that there is no bar
ETA: $139 rate includes shuttle and free breakfast in the morn

Re: CHCC brides
We booked rooms at the Inn at Fox Hollow and the Best Western Woodbury Inn. Both have shuttle service, but it's first come, first serve. If possible, book the shuttle at the same time as your room block. Fox Hollow puts the shuttle on a separate contract. Best Western Woodbury Inn has everything on one contract. HTH.

Do they offer a shuttle? Did you get a chance the view the rooms? Did you have to guarentee a certain number of rooms, and do you have to pay if your rooms are not booked by the deadline? I know so many questions SORRY

I know that you said you can pass of the cost to the guests for the shuttle, but what is the shuttle's actual cost? Is this something you book on top of the blocks of rooms? Thanks for the help!

No problem! They have a deal with a shuttle company, I believe we are paying $400 for 4 hours - 2 hours to get people there and 2 hours to get people back.
You can view the rooms but you have to call that day to see if they have any empty rooms. You can also see pictures of the rooms online. It's not The Ritz but is clean and nice enough.
You don't have to guarentee an amount of rooms but you do have to give them a number. We did 19 because they do not require a deposit and there is no penalty for unbooked rooms unless you block 20 or more.
Also, all rooms need to be booked 1 month prior to your wedding.
