Any ladies planning an outdoor ceremony at the reception halls??? I met with a DJ tonight and he mentioned that the town of Oyster Bay has some law that music can not be amplified outside...then he mentioned that the venues that are effected by this are the ones i names above (mine being CHCC)....anyone heard of this??? He said in order to have ceremony music outside we would need to hire an instrument player (violinist or pianist)....did anyone else hear this?? I was hoping to save some money and use prerecorded stuff. Ill contact my BM tomorrow but was wondering if you ladies know of any other options?

My friend got married there at Crest Hollow and was told ABSOLUTELY no amplified music. She had a harpist for her ceremony. It was beautiful
Getting married at WCC and my DJ and BM mentioned this. However, I think its okay depending on the set-up. It has to be monitored and not party level - but soft for a ceremony. We're having a steel drummer as well.
I had a friend plan to get married outside at WCC (i was in teh bridal party)`and only the day of did they tell her about the music thing and she was almost in tears. It was slightly misty out and she wound up getting married inside but I think more because of the last minute music surprise cause she wanted to **** it up and go with the rain-ish weather but the no music was the nail in the coffin..
Hi ladies, I spoke to Jeff. If you are getting married on the pond, its a problem. there is a noise ordinance for that side. If you are getting married poolside, its okay, it just can't be blasting music, it has to be monitored and it can't be the entire 5-8 hours of your event. hope this helps.

First time I'm hearing of this. I'm getting married on the pond and I'm having a guitarist play for the ceremony and cocktail. Hope it's not affected by that. Jeff made no mention of it before, but I guess I'm going to have to ask him again.
soooooooooooooooooo for the ceremony can we use little mics? I have heard without a mike it is impossible to hear anything. Does that count as amplified?
