Now that we booked our venue the next hard choice the dress!!! I am limited due to funds and my size :( I am definitely a plus size bride. I looked on the Davids bridal website price good but I know the style I want and they didn't have it. I'm not sure if they have more selection in the store. Trying on dresses is so embarrassing :( ugh not looking forward tO it at all! so where is a good place to start? I don't want to pay over 500. this is always the part I was dreading!

Don't be discouraged!! I would definitely try David's Bridal in Westbury. They have a really great selection!!
Since your budget is limited, I'm not sure if you will find your exact dream dress, but I hope you find something you truly love!!!!

I think you might want to look into buying a sample too. Most bridal stores have plus size gowns to try on, don't just limit yourself to Davids.

Definitely try David's Bridal and ask if they have any dresses that are being discontinued!
My original dress was marked down from $800+ to $250 because it was being discontinued!!!

hmmm i think your best bet is going to be davids bridal. i saw some plus size dresses at RK and a few other stores i went to and they were considered inexpensive...but they were still in the 1000 range.

The Wedding Center of Commack has a pretty big selection of plus size dresses. They are probably over your budget, but you could at least get an idea of styles and shapes that you do/don't like. And you could always ask about a sample sale, too

I'm sure you could find a Mori Lee sample for that price and they make beautiful plus size gowns. Bonny does too! I think they are usually more like $750-900, but a sample would work.

I don't have any recommendation on pricing or size, but the one recommendation I can make is to get out there and try them on! You really don't know how it'll look until it's on you. I was very surprised by some of the gowns I tried and getting in and out of them gave me a better sense of what was best for me.

I bought mine there in 2006, so things may have changed but they told me that besides buying off the rack, they could order your correct size in a style you liked so even if a dress there is too big or too small you increase the number you try on that way. Back then prices started at about $399 and alot were betw $500 and $800. Also they had coupons in some of the clipper mags for 10% that you could also use.

I'm a plus sized bride and I had a GREAT time trying on dresses. Most stores do carry bigger sizes - so don't be discouraged. Go and have fun!
