CHEAP Videographers????

Oh Lordy. Fiance just put his head in my lap to read the responses to the last post asking about videographers. It seemed cute at first. Well, he saw what Melissa is paying (about $2,500, I think) and is now driving me crazy with wanting to cut out the video altogether! Help me save my video. Anyone paying less than $1,200??? I think that is the lowest price I have seen. Becky

I am paying $2300, but my photographer works with someone who does a raw video for $700 and an edited version for $1300...VIP Studios

VIP does video very cheap but I am not sure if you need to book VIP photographers too. Also, Mark Kauffman recommends Steven Taub and he is around $1200 range too. I booked Wild Rose and they offer a few packages. I think the lowest is $1200 or $1400. Give them a call. They were by far the best I saw and are great to work with. Tell your FH that people on this board all have different priorities. Some girls want a $2500 video, but a very inexpensive dress. Others girls have $7,000 photographers and $1000 Video. Some like bands, some like DJs. We are all different. You cannot judge an entire catagory by one post about price. Also, I believe video is very important. Most brides say the day just flies by and they hardly remember most of it. Plus so much happens that you don't see. For instance, I will not watch my Flower Girl go down the aisle. But I can watch her on the video.

I totally agree. I know that I will miss so much of the day. Plus, I would love to be able to show it to my children some day. FH is just excited to get married and would be happy with a pizza party reception! Plus, he doesn`t believe that we will ever watch it. I will look into the places you mentioned. Cheap Viceographers????

I agree with Michele about different needs and wants. Some people can afford more because of savings or help from their family and some of the brides even live outside their means spending more than they can afford. You can get some really nice work in the $1200 to $1500 range. I can tell you that $2500 is not the average for a videographer but is way above. Keep checking them out and you will find a great one that fits your budget.

I've gone with the same videographer as Melissa, but we're only spending around $1500. Don't be discouraged by other peoples choices - if you're looking for something simplier, you can do it for less.

Yeah... Platinum Video is alot cheaper...

We just chose an expensive package. I'm kind or regreting it now. That's an extra $1,000 we have to come up with. You would really like his style. Give him a call!

one more plus about video

I wasn't sold on a video when I was first engaged until a friend of mine put it this way...there are so many people that you will have on tape (parents, grandparents, siblings, etc) that will not always be with you, but you will have this memory of them, dancing and talking and laughing...it makes me think of the 6th Sense, when bruce willis' wife was constatnly watching her video...

I think T&T starts at $1000 and will work with you on price *NM*
