check and drama
So after a lot of unecessary drama I'm glad to say that the bridesmaid dresses are picked and 2 of the girls ordered theirs. So my sister is my matron of honor she is not a thin girls so she has been giving me a hard time about dresses saying she wants something that flatters her. The one day we went for her to try on dresses all the places we went to had limited plus size dresses and I didn't really like any of them plus i had already fell in love with a dress for the other girls. So I told her okay if you want a different dress you need to do the leg work and find one in the same material same color. The dress I picked is a-line it can flatter any shape but since she is so big she only feels semi comfortable in an empire. That is fine but all the designers right now don't seem to offer empire dress in silk shantung material. So she never did the leg work I ended up having to. So when I called a few places and told them the dress I like I was informed that it got discontinued 2 weeks ago and if I was going to get my dresses in time for fitting I have a 3 week window to get everyone to order. So at this point I am pissed off and stressed. So I told my sister/ matron of honor the whole situation and that I am picking a dress this Saturday and that is it. I am so done playing games and just need to get this done, plus I really loved the other dress so pissed I that because of her I had to wait and it got discontinued (also the salons fault for not notifying us like good salons usually do.) So she had a fit over that and dropped out of the wedding party. This is my own sister too. So dealing with all of the bs the past few days just made me wish more and more that I just eloped lol. Thankfully I have really great girls in my bridal party and one of them made an appointment looks up other alternative dresses and surprised me by having my maid of honor surprise me at the salon. We tried on a few and found 2 that were very similar. My maid of honor was checking out the make of the dress and she found pockets and we were sold. Picked a dress was able to get it in the same material and color and it was cheaper. So even though it was an utter disaster getting to check this off I think we ended up with the better dress in the end. So glad to be done with that. http://www.venusbridal.com/search?sno=1432
This is the dress except we are paying 20 extra for silk shantung, it will be in cobalt, the flower is being removed and they are adding straps.

I love the dress you picked! It's beautiful!I totally agree about BM/MOH drama. It sometimes makes me wish i just eloped or skipped a bridal party all together!

Thanks! It totally zaps the fun out of everything. I guess every wedding has their drama whether you elope or go the traditional route I just feel it's so unnecessary. I think people forget A LOT that it's someone else wedding and it's about them and celebrating their relationship.

Right? I've been a BM a couple of times and I always felt the key was to keep the bride out of any and all drama. Sucks when the BS gets dumped on the bride! I hope your sister comes to her senses :-/

I'm sorry you had to go through all of that stress, but that dress is gorgeous!! I'm glad it all worked out in the end, but it would be nice if things worked out without the added headaches! Hang in there!

I've been in so many bridal parties and I feel like they're always drama of some sort. That's why I only have two girls! I cannot deal with the headache. People get crazy when they are in bridal parties for some reason. I don't get it!!! And I love the dress!

Thanks! I really did luck out with the dresses (Thank god) I was really nervous and high stressed after being told the dress I've had in mind and wanted got discontinued. Yeah there is always drama but I have never given bride grief over the bm dresses. In all the bridal parties Ive been in the bride picks the dress I order it no questions asked, and I've worn some god awful ugly dresses we are talking 27 dresses quality. I always managed to keep the bride out of the drama it was her day and do the best I could to make sure all wedding related events go as she pleased. Not to say there wasn't drama between the girls. Hopefully these next 8 months will go fast.Welcome New Vendors
