did you just group people together on paper and erase when needed?
im thinking i need magnet board and labels lol!

I'm dreading this. I tried to make a mock/preliminary seating chart one night with my mom and it was a headache. Congrats on the dreaded check.

I made a lists on a paper, list 1 was my family, list 2 was FH's family, list 3 was friends. I grouped families together and then had to work out singles and couple around that. After putting that on paper I moved it to an excel sheet. Just did a lot of cutting a pasting until things right.

That was definitely the most dreaded thing on my to-do list, and we only had 112 people to seat! And, as helpful as FH has been, he was NO help on that one. If it was up to him, he would just draw names out of a hat and seat people randomly that way. Good lord.
