checked out 3 gyms

checked out 3 gyms

Went to lucille roberts (not what I was looking for)
New York Sports Club (very expensive, but nice)
Ballys (also expensive, not as nice)

any feedback ladies? Where do you like to workout?

Christy, I go to Sporttime in the Hamptons. It's about 15 minutes from where I live, but it is a good gym and a little less than NYSC.

Yes, I love Sportime. The problem for me is, I work in Stony Brook and when I get home, I have to further out east to go to Sportime. My ideal situation would to have Sportime on the way home or 5 minutes away from my house.

Christy,

I go to a NYSC in Queens and I love it. I used to go to Lucille Roberts and I can't even compare the 2! In my opinion, NYSC is definitely worth the money, really clean, they keep up the equipment great, and the personal TVS at every cardio station is great!

I go to NYSC in Huntington Village and while the membership is pricey, the place always has towels, is really clean, staff is nice and helpful and I second the tv's in front of every cardio machine. I can watch Oprah while I run. Can't beat that !!!

It is perfect. I used to belong to powerhouse, but then I made the switch and I am so happy.

I rationalize the cost by knowing it's something good for me, rather than the 4 bucks I waste on cappuccino at starbucks.

I am actually a huge lucille roberts fan. I thought it wasn't my speed either, but I wasn't about to pay premium for a gym.

I decided to go for a free trial class and I ended up thinking it was great. You should give it a shot. (BTW - if you do try the LR in commack where you live be prepared to be hounded by the manager - she is a really aggressive sales lady. The other LR's aren't like that)
