we looked there - only thing with cabo is the water is so rough i have been told you cant swim in the ocean bc of the riptide

Yes I've heard that too! There are only a handful of swimable beaches in the Cabo area, but ever since I had a near drowning experience in St Lucia I stick to pools and sun bathing. No ocean swimming for me anymore!
