Deposit down on invites... my bat mitvah invites but they're so gorgeous!

BM dresses picked out... waiting for girls to order.

I've posted pics of each before, so Id idn't think anyone would care, but I'm happy to post again!


the invite is on shimmer paper with thermography print...will have 2 crystals on the front... either clear or magenta, and the ink and ribbon will be dark purple. Color scheme is cornflower, eggplant nad magenta

The dress will be in the blue color shown int he second pic, not the purple on the model from the site stock photo..

I found the dress at Macy's, they're Jordan style 146, but we're gonna order from Alexandra's in Forest Hills..$140 vs $180 at Macy's!

The invites we found at Long Island Wedding Planner, but they are by Checkerboard right out of one of the books so almost any invite place has them... We wound up ordering from Fairy Tale Affairs cause they were able to do a little better on price for us, but I feel bad cause Christine at LIWP was so great to me.

They're on the expensive side, but we were sick of shopping and we couldn't find anything we liked as much for any less, so FH was just like, enough, I'm putting down a deposit

I wouldn't worry too much about the invites being for a Mitzvah, it's not like you are going to have the Star of David all blinged out while asking people to go to a church ... or ARE you?

Nice! I went this weekend to a place that wasn't willing to discount - but found a bunch I like.... I was going to also try working with 'her'....what do you think?

I didn't work with her for 2 reasons:

1) I've seen too many girls say they had issues with her. I know 95% of LIW girls have a good experience, but I'm an unlucky person. Murphy's law finds me, so what can go wrong for me usually does... so I wasn't taking any chances.

2) I really wanted something different... while 'her' invites are really pretty, I feel like I've seen them before . . . they just weren't for me. I

I've heard her prices are really good though, specially for pockets, and she does the shimmer paper and everything... I just wasn't willing to take a chance.

As far as BM dresses go, this is THE ONLY dress I found that came in a color in my color scheme that didn't make me feel like I was settling on something other than one other Bill Levkoff, and I couldn't use BL cause his largest size was too small for one of my BMs.

My Italian Catholic FMIL is angry cause IW ant to wear blue shoes, Id on't know if she'd appreciate the Star of David on my invites, lol. I'm not worried about them being marketed for a Mitvah, I just think it's funny I couldn't find a wedding invite I liked and I had to get it out of a book of Bar/Bat Mitvah invites.

PS, I can't believe people spend tthat kind of money for a party ofr their 13 year old kid!! For confirmation we had a party in my yard with a barbecue and paper cups!
