I'm probably the ONLY bride on here that actually wants 'We Are Family', and 'Celebrate' and 'Hot Hot Hot' and all those songs (not the group dancs..I'm not a fan).
But everyone seems so against this so called 'Cheesy wedding music' Are my guests going to dance? Or are they going to laugh at me if I play this?
Honestly, until LIW I had NO Idea this was even considered cheesy!! Now I feel embarrassed if I play it, but I kinda want to b/c its fun. I have a huge older crowd and I know our families will love it...but I dont want my younger crowd to roll thier eyes and think I'm a big cheeseball. I guess I never realized how bad this music was....I dont understand whats wrong with it until liw lol. mayb eim living in a bad music box!

im having it played!! fh hates this type of music but to bad!!! it really does get the crown on the dance floor. gotta play stuff that will keep the party going. imo this type of music does!!
fh really doesnt want the electric slide but again, to bad!!!! i love doing it!!!! i do at every wedding or party ive ever been to!!!

Psshhh I'll be playing all those cheesy songs! If anybody says anything, tell 'em it's to get the older crowd up and dancing. And it will! I can't seem them getting down to Lady Gaga.

I don t find them cheesy....I lik ethose type of songs because they make people dance and act silly........I also love group dances because they make people who don't want to dance feel obligated to get up and join in...........

if you like those songs then play them! i personally never dance to them so i dont want to play them but thats just me... if they get you moving then def add them to your list

Colleen- Play what you want! Having a good mix of music will get everyone up dancing. If you cater only to the younger crowd- the older crowd may get bored. The older crowd will love that music. Believe me... I am the older crowd

I think its up to everyone's preference...I personally am not a fan of certain songs, or think certain songs are cliche or played out, but its YOUR wedding and you get to play what YOU want. You know what your guests will like, so you have to go with the flow
