Cherry blossoms in October?

Cherry blossoms in October?

PICS IN MY ALBUM.

Is this completely out of the question? I have two centerpiece pic's that I LOVE. I think they are both cherry blossoms, but one is white.
Is the white one cherry blossoms too?

Ellie424 is all about the Cherry Blossoms - you might want to FM her for some ideas/reccos.

ellie424(Alicia) posted earlier that since Cherry blossoms are in season in April, her florist told her it would be all but impossible to get them even in June...which is why she decided on a May date instead.

I'm sure someone could get them for you in Oct, but I'd imagine it would be at a premium. Good luck though.

FM Alicia, she's so sweet, I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any q's you have, she's done some research.

I'm sure you can get just about any flower at just about any time of year but, especially for something like cherry blossoms in October, you'd have to pay top dollar. I don't think it'd be worth it. If you showed your florist your ideas I'm sure they'd be able to recommend a similar flower though! HTH!

Thanks ladies. I wonder if there is a site that lists what flowers are in season during the year. That would be so helpful.

I did a quick google search and found this Daily News article. I think brides.com also lists flowers by price and season.

cherry blossoms are only around from march to may. It will be extremly expensive to get them in Oct. I dont even know if some florist can even get them at that time of year

Re: Cherry blossoms in October?

As the other girls mentioned...I love love love cherry blossoms!! Unfortunately, they are only in season for a very short period of time. The season starts in either March or April and only goes until about mid-May. I had contacted several florists and only ONE florist told me that I could have CBs in later May. The reason they are able to provide CBs in later May is because they have their grower put the CBs in a cold room and then put them in a hot room when they want them to bloom. This allows them to have more control over their blooming. However, my florist told me that if I were to get married in June, CBs would be impossible to get (originally FH and I were thinking of getting married in June...but then decided on May because of CBs). I don't even know if it's possible to get them at a premium when they are out of season (this is something I was willing to do...depending on cost)...I was simply told they would be impossible to get.

There are other options you can still do if you can't get CBs. You can either do silk CBs OR you can get curly willow branches and have orchids hand tied onto the branches. The final product has a similar soft look as CBs, and is a popular alternative when CBs are not in season. I saw a girl on Platinum Weddings do this with her CB themed wedding because CBs weren't in season. I'm pretty sure that there is also a branch that has white flowers that you can get when CBs are not in season....but I forget the name of the tree. I'll try to see if I can find the name and then let you know.

I hope this helps! It's so annoying that CBs are only in bloom for such a short period of time...but there are a few other options that will give you a similar feel to CB branches. Also..it's probably worth a shot to just contact a few florists and see if it's possible to get the CBs at a premium since they're out of season.

If you have any questions, let me know!
