I want to have my next baby when Emma is 2 so there will be 2 almost 3 years between them. A friend of mine had her kids 5 years apart and also 16 months apart and with the 5 year difference she said it was too long and the 16 months was too short so Im going right in the middle.

Re: child 'spacing'
I don't have children yet, but I would want at least 2 years in between. I don't know why, I just do

We will probably start trying when Lyla is 1, so next summer, I hope to conceive again.

Re: child 'spacing'
I asked Al what he thought and he said every two years. Of course my next question was, every two years for how long! He still thinks we're having 4 - HA! I'm thinking 2.
But I think 2 years apart is a good amount of time (my older sister and I were 18months apart). Which would mean trying to concieve again just after the first birthday of our first.

Re: child 'spacing'
I like 3 or 4...my sister and I are 4 years apart and I think it was perfect. We were not that close where we were on top of each other all the time and we were close enough to become best friends.
My brother and I are 11 and a half years apart and even though its such a big space...it worked wonderfully for us..I adore him and treat him like hes mine...but I know it has and still is very hard for my mom because as you get older you dont have the same energy....especially when the boy is last...they take a lot out of you she says..I guess thats why I have always done so much with him..not that my mom doesnt but it makes it a little easier on her.

Re: child 'spacing'
Well, if this one ever decides to come out , we plan on trying for #2 after the New Year... so, our children will be 15 months to 2 years (hopefully) apart.

Re: child 'spacing'
It is NEVER 'bad' to want one child. There is no magic number. It is a personal decision. Everyone's idea of the 'perfect' size family is different.
Scott and I would like to have 2 child. I need to have baby #1 though, before I can decide about baby #2
