I knew you had to pay for classes at the hospital but I didn't think it would cost that much. Can you all tell me if this is what you paid or will be paying. This is from LIJ Hospital Lamaze- $190 - 4 classes Breastfeeding - $50 - 1 class Baby care - $50 - 1 class Is this the going rate?

I can tell you that there are tons of FREE breastfeeding classes you can take. I took mine at StonyBrook. It is given once a month and there is NO charge. It was a wonderful class.
I was required to take the hospital course because I use a midwife, which I think is insane but it was $265 PLUS $5.25 to park each time we went. It was 5 classes.
We then took Hypnobirthing which was worth every penny of the $300 fee that it cost us.

At Southside Hospital lamaze was $125. Check with your insurance because some will refund part or all of the cost. Just be sure to get a receipt when you pay for the class. The breastfeeding, childcar, and sibling classes were free. All of the classes were offered through the LIJ hospital system. Good Sam offers the same prices.

At NSUH@Plainview the childbirth classes were $150 and the rest of the classes were free.

We are taking Prepared Childbirth through our doctor's office for $150. (The hospital tour is on Wednesday, and then we are DONE!!! )
