Children at the Shower?

Children at the Shower?

Is it ok not to invite them even if they are family and are being invited to the wedding? I want to have my shower in a restaurant and I think the limit is 40 people for the private room. My guest list is 29 w/o the kids.. Even if I invited kids, I would only invite the girls right? But that would still bring me over 40...or close. I honestly would rather not invite them.. is that rude?

I'm not inviting anyone under 17 to my shower.

The only children who will be there are my flower girls. (3 of them)

Thanks.

I should add that we are not having any flower girls and we don't have any nieces (or nephews). The only children are children of cousins.. And then if you invite one, you have to invite them all.

i think its fine if you dont, im only having two or 3 women bring their children (one of which's daughter is my flowergirl, and the other's son is the rb, even though shes only bringing the girls lol)

i invited kids... but not everyones kid(not intentionally).. either way...when i got back rsvp's the moms included their daughters even if they werent invited. no biggie. so even if u dont invite them, expect them to invite themselves. at that point just accept it. dont call them and say ' u cant bring her' not nice.

i am only including my flower girls (nieces) & two older kids (they are 16 & 14).

as for our friends & family who have children they are not invited to the shower or the wedding

I don't think boys are usually invited.. I mean if they are toddlers, I would let it go.

FH had to fight with FMIL over this because she didn't want to invite 4 of his cousins (ages 10, 15, 17 and 22!!) because she thought they would be bored. I'm only 20! I want younger people with me, and I def wanted his 4 cousins there because I love all of them, and the 10 year old is our flower girl! After a week of arguing with her, she finally gave in and FH convinced her to invite them.
