Children at the Wedding

Children at the Wedding

Okay, here is my dilemma . . .

I have having my beautiful nieces (3 of them) and my nephew as my flower girls and ring bearer. My sisters are also both in my wedding party. We are all VERY close and very excited about the wedding. However, I do want my sisters and brothers-in-law to have a good time at the reception without worrying about taking care of the kids. Would it be bad to have the kids at the CH only, then have a babysitter (family friend) some pick them up and take them for the night? That way, the kids still get to be part of the wedding and be around for the CH, but once the reception starts, absolutly no children will be around. Need some advice. Part of me wants them to be there for the party, but part of me wants my sisters to have a good night out without having to worry about all the kids......

p.s. - no other 'children' under 18 are invited to the wedding.

We're doing an adult reception only as well. But the FH has 4 nieces & nephews that will be there and I told him I don't want them running around and all that. He said he would have his cousin watch them throughout the night.

To me, if I could, I wouldn't have kids. But his family would flip.

Do what you want. At least they'll be there for the CH.

I am having FH's niece as a part of my wedding. My BIL's parents, who are not invited to the wedding, will be around until it's time to take her home and then they will leave with her. This way my SIL and her husband will be able to enjoy themselves. It was sort of their suggestion, but I thought it was a great idea!

Good luck!

I have been told over and over by family that they perfer not to have their kids around especially for a evening wedding so they can have fun with out worrying about the kids doing something horrible or annoying them.

Your nice to offer or setup babysitting so there is nothing wrong with that.

I think its a great idea to have the kids picked up after CH. We're not having any kids in our wedding, but if we were I would definitely have a babysitter pick them up.

Heck no, that's not 'bad' at all. One of my BM's has two boys (they will be 1 and 3 at the wedding). The little one is spending the whole day with his grandparents, while the 3 year-old (our RB) will be picked up during cocktail hour.

When my uncle remarried a couple of years ago his wife had her 2 nieces in the bridal party and her nephew. They stayed with everyone until the grand entrance in the RH and then they were taken into another room...like a bridal suite. She hired a babysitter that stayed with them until the party ended. They watched tv...colored & made arts and crafts.

we will have about 4kids at the wedding. My family is traveling here so they can't leave the kids at home. My FH family will not bring kids
