Hello. I was just curious. If my hall says 12 and under is 1/2 price and I have a 13 year old guest, do you think I can get away with saying he is 12? I mean they don't proof do they? I also have another cousin who will be turing 12 three months before my wedding. Can I lie about his age. They don't check birth certificates do they? I hate to lie but i think its ridiculous to pay full price for them when they are on the brink of 12. What do you guys think?

If you invited them at 12 then pay for them as 12.. I don't think the hall would proof.. Especially if your hall is anything like mine we only get childrens prices once we hit above our minimum! Think about it this way, technically should you know all the childrens's brithdays.. you know they are 12 now.. so pay for a 12 year old!

I've never heard of any hall proofing anybody!! LOL :-)!!! In my situation, my hall never questioned how old anybody was, just took for granted that I had 2 kids 12 or under. I actually had another kid (my DH's half-brother) who had just turned 13 a week before, but he's really tall, so I knew I wouldn't get away with that one. If your 13 yr. old looks younger, then go for it.

The reason that the price is less is because they do not charge you for alchol. I think the age should be 16 and under personally since I would not allow anyone younger to touch a drink.
But I am having all of the kids at my wedding, one is 13 too, as under 12. They do not proof. Just make sure that the food choses are not different for the under 12 price. Some places do that and the 13 year old might want a grown-up meal.
