Is anyone doing something special for the children at their wedding? I've been to some weddings where they had coloring books and small toys in a pile for the children to entertain themselves. Do you think this is a good idea or does it ruin the decor of the room and tables? Do you think it's a waste of time and money?
Any ideas

Re: Children Tables
I didn't have a separate table for the kids at our wedding, they sat with their parents. But I did make up small gift bags for them, they each got a beach ball and a bottle of bubbles as a favor. They were able to go outside and play for a little while, let out some of their energy, and were very well behaved the whole time!! And the gift bags looked nice on the tables, I think the kids (and the parents!) really appreciated them.

Pics are in my album. I went to thecrayonhouse.com and printed out the pages, then put them all together!

Re: Children Tables
We are going to sit the kids with their parents but have a table outside of the ballroom with crayons and toys for the kids in case they are bored.

I am having kids at my wedding. I think I may have coloring books and games in the library section of my RH for them to pass their time and there is the outdoor section where they can play. I am also doing the candy bar for them bec not alot of kids eat pastries just candy and of course for the adults

Re: Children Tables
we will have coloring books and crayons. Our room has a lounge area next to the bar with couches and coffee tables (far from the dinner tables and dance floor). This will be the kids area.
I don't think a kids zone detracts from the decor. After all, they're your guests too... both they, and their parents will appreciate having a seperate play space

Re: Children Tables
I made personlized coloring books. and I'm going to get crayons and fun other stuff that the kids can take home since they won't be getting the favors. I'm sticking the kids all the way in the corner anyway so I don't think it will ditratct from the room at all.

You had kids at your wedding???? I know I got there late, but those were VERY well behaved kids b/c the only underage people I remember seeing were in the bridal party!

Re: Children Tables
I made coloring books for the kids ... I used MS Word, and a lot of their clipart (adjusted the clipart pics to be black & white).

thats what i did, we are having apx 15 kids. we have a few other things going on the table to help keep them busy. i think its nice, they dont get a favor, so this is their thing to take with them.
