Being a school teacher and an Instructor of a graduate course on children's literature, I think it is fitting for me to have one of my readings at my ceremony to be one from a children's book. Is this allowed in the Catholic church? Or is it only allowed at ceremonys not in the church?

To be honest, I have no idea. But I think that is such a sweet/cute/personal idea! I love it!!

Each church has different rules, so you need to speak with your priest.
But I wouldn't get my hopes up....
Maybe you could write the reading on the back page of the program so guests had something to read while they were waiting for the ceremony to start?

Re: children's book reading
My uncle will be the priest performing the ceremony but I'm slightly hesitant to ask him. He's already not thrilled that we really didn't want to get married in a catholic church. Lol. In response to which book- I'm not positive yet. I have 3-4 to choose from ( such as a passage from the velveteen rabbit, a lovely love story , tHe missing piece, ....)
