China

I am so confused with china. I really like Kate Spade's June Lane, but it's so pricey. How did you decide what china to pick?

narrow it down , get 2nd opinions, I would register for what you like- some people will get it for you-I thought mine were too $$ but i got every setting! Dont worry, people will chip in, aunts/cousins etc... will buy it dont settle for something ...youre going to have it forever

We picked out what we like. It happened to not be so pricey. Don't pick out something you don't love just b/c it's less expensive.

There is only 1 thing we compromised on and that was our sterling silver. It wound up being $400 per place setting. We wouldn't get ANY of that... so we registered for a very similar pattern that is about half the price.

DH and I choose a pattern we really liked. We knew going into it that we didn't want to register for a really expensive set. So when we were registering, we stubmled across a Mikasa setting we liked and registered for it. It turned out that it was almost always on sale in Macy's and was a good deal. We have Mikasa Platinum Crown, which looks similar to a lot of other more expensive settings.

I am choosing china on looks and price. The stuff I really really want, I know I will only get a few pieces and end up having to take it back. What would I do with three place settings and a salt shaker only? If you think you wont end up with enough of the kate spade that you like, see if you can find a cheaper brand with a similar pattern.
