FH and I are having SUCH a hard time deciding about formal china. We are worried b/c we don't thinksomeone will buy us the china. We will def be entertaining, but I am not so formal. I love these dishes from crate and barrel. Do you think they look formal enough for china????
Why do you think no one will buy you china? Crate and Barrel is not typically inexpensive. We registered for Noritake China and it was only $35. So far all the place settings have been bought and there's only two covered veg dishes left (which we probably don't need anyway). If you're entertaining you might want to go more formal and have these as everyday dishes

Sweetie its so up to you. Im not formal either but i loe to entertain so I am planning to register for 2 sets. Everyday dishes and a 'nicer' set for company- but nit your classis 'china set'. I think its a big waste The one you like is PERFECT

I think that your china is really pretty. The good thing about a simple pattern is that you can always 'dress' it up with table linens if you want. It is much easier to change your linens (napkin rings, etc) than being stuck with expensive china that only goes with certain things and you may get tired of (especially if you didn't want it in the first place).

We have the bone china from them and love their stuff. Just got back from the one in Manhasset about an hour ago. They have a bed there which we might buy after we move.

I agree- I didn't register for formal china- we are just not formal china people even though we love to entertain. I love buying new plates and trying different combos when putting together a table. Formal china is not a must do for everyone. I love your choice.
