China ? or NO China?

China ? or NO China?

Is it a big deal NOT to register for china or casual china even? I do not feel I will ever use it and would rather have $ spent elsewhere.

we registered for 'casual china' for our everyday dishes. we did not register for our formal china because right now we don't have the space and want to wait until we have a formal dining room. ive been told by a lot of people im making a mistake, i should just register for it, but there is a lot of other stuff we need and will use now......

If you don't want it, don't register for it. We picked a nice set of everyday dishes that we can use when we have people over and that's it, we don't have the want or need for fancy china. I think a lot of couples opt not to have fancy china these days.

I am not doing china. I am going to register for nicer everyday dishes. I would do it if i thought i was going to really use it, but i dont have room to display it or store it

we felt the same way... we weren't gonna register for it, but then we found at BBB a set of mikasa... i think it was 8 place settings or mikasa parchment.... it was about $200... so that was perfect for us, because it was nice china, but it didn't cost us or our guests $100 a place setting, so i won't feel guilty if i don't use it much..... maybe something like that??
but you definitely don't need it. if you don't want it... you could always do it for an anniversart or something...

Register for stuff you'll actually use!

We did not register for formal china. We picked a beautiful casual set of dishes that I would be very happy to use when I have company over.

A lot of my friends that are already married always mention how they never even use their formal china because (1) the occassion for it does not arise; and (2) they are so afraid of breaking it.

if you don't think you'll use it, then don't get it! you don't have to have china

We picked an everyday set of dishes and then a nice porcelain set for company. We aren't big into the fine china thing either.

China would be the LAST thing I'd register for, I know I'd never use it, don't have a place for it, it's not me. You should register for things you want/need, not things you feel you should register for IMO.
