China patterns

Is anyone else having trouble finding a pattern that they like? I just can't decide. I'm not thrilled with any that I've seen.

Fine china? I was having the same problem and then I came across Wedgwoof Majesty in Platinum. You order it from the company and they put your monogram on the dinner plate! I have a sample at home and I can't wait to order them, I love them! They are so elegant, just a single rim of platinum around the edge on white bone (or ivory) china. I want to get the monogram in script but it comes in bold also.

NYCMeghan I totally agree! The only one I like is the same one as my roomate's - Lenox Liberty. I'd feel weird registering for the same pattern as her though.

And bethsiar - that is cool - I may have to look into that! Thanks

I love bethsiar's china but FI vetoed it. They have it at Fortunoff but not on their website.

I just got a plain set, with platinum bands around the edge and another 2 rings near the band, I think.

Re: China patterns

I took me and my FH a while to find a pattern that we would be happy with. I also did not 'love' anything in particular. I did not want something that was too trendy for fear of hating it in the future. So we ended up choosing a more conservative, elegant pattern and then jazzing it up with a colorful charger and salad plate from another pattern.

My Fh and I went this weekend. It took forever to find even one that we liked a little. Either they were too plain or too extravagent. We finally picked a china pattern we like...but it is expensive...$139 for a five piece place setting. Do you think that I am asking a lot of guests? Oh, its called crosshaven by waterford.

No trouble deciding on a china pattern here! I fell in love with my pattern over 3 years ago!

at first I wasnt even going to register for china..but then I came across the Vera Wang Pink Duchesse pattern in bloomingdales and I could not stop thinking about it! I love it and I can't wait until my set is complete.

I was also unhappy with the china patterns out today and it seemed what I liked was $$$$$. I found that Michael C. Fina in NYC (www.michaelcfina.com) has a great selection and I was able to mix and match. They did have a good number of 5 and 6 piece place settings, too, for those that don't want to do a la carte. I found a five place setting at Bloomie's for the same price as Fina's six piece. They add the rim soup bowl in for free in many cases. Last point about them, is it is nice they have the consolidation registry.

I am also having a hard time finding one. My original choice in casual has been discontinued and since then I have not fallen in love with any other one! My formal I like because it looks antique. But I need a casual!
