China place setting prices went up!!

China place setting prices went up!!

Anyone experience this? When we put our china on our registry its was NOT on sale and $99 a place setting, now it is $155! I dont know why this has happened. Also, we had a cake plate that matched the set, that i KNOW was $77 because I made fun of FH because he was the one that added it to our registry, and now its $110!! My china is Seville by WEdgewood......anyone come across this?

Are you registered at Macys? They told me that whenever the price ends in a 9, it IS on sale. With such a big price difference, that sounds like what happened.

Hey---I am registered at Forunoff's. Our china has been at $99 for the last 4 months--since we registered in Sept!

That happened to me also but at Macys. When I registerd it was 103.50 a place setting which was fine... I went back and check it a few weeks later and it was $130 a place setting!!! when BBB and fortunoff has it for 89.99!!!

FH and I registered at Macy's and Fortunoff and I was surprised to see that Fortunoff was a lot lower in price on many of the things. We almost wound up cancelling our resistry at Macys.

OMG!!! I just checked my registry at Fortunoff and my place settings jumped from 89 to 150!!! I have to call to find out what happened. If this is the case then I will take my registry elsewhere. I spent many hours selecting based on what I liked in a specific price range and $150 is no where near that price range.

That is absolutely ridiculous!

I just looked again and I noticed that they are offering a 'bonus' with the place setting now. If it is purchased by 1/31 the soup bowl is included as bonus. The soup bowl on its own is $62, the original cost for the setting was $89.99... those feckers are trying to pull a fast one!

I am calling Fortunoff tomorrow!

Yeah I noticed the soup bowl as well. We received 2 places settings from FMIL for Xmas and she didnt get the bonus, so we are taking it back next weekend and either returning it and buying it again to get the soup bowl, or I am going to just ask them to give it to us. I am so mad as well. I wrote an email last night and FH is calling today to find out about the price hike. I will update everyone tonight.

first mine went down in price from when we registered. At that point there was a bonus soup bowl. Then the bonus went away and the price dropped. Then THe bonus came back and the price went back up.

Mine went up 30$$$$$$

I just called Fortunoff because I have Lenox Opal Innocence and the price is now $143 from $99 on the place setting and they said they dont know why the prices went up nor do they know if they will go back down. I just went on my macys registry and added them to that because at Macys they are still $99 for the 5 piece place setting

Sweetpea just posted on another post saying she spoke to Fortunoffs yesterday and they said there was something wrong with their computers. I hope this is true because if not they will be losing alot of brides!

I just called fortunoff and they said that the manufacturer raises the prices and they have no contol over it. Mine went up $40 a setting! I'm so upset b/c I already got two settings and now I may have to find something else and return them.

I'm going to see if I can get intouch with the manufacturer and see what they say. This stinks so bad!!!

I also checked Macy's for a price comparison and it went up there as well. I have Lenox Courtyard China.

My Mom got us this amazing Noritake 8 place setting with all the serving dishes for like $300 on sale at macys. I just cant see spending this type of money when their are so many more things we need for our home. Just an FYI as an option. They are amazing and look like we spent so much more than what we did on them.
