China / Stemware

China / Stemware

Fh and I registered at Macys the other night. We picked this China pattern (Lennox Herald SquareWhite)

Then we were shown this crystal stemware (Vera Wang Duchesse)

The lady at Macys set everything up on a table for us to see together, and honestly I have no idea if the pieces looked good together or not. Now that its a few days later I feel like we were quick to pick the dishes and I'm not completely happy with them. Fh and I are in love with the glasses, so we'll probably want to keep them. I think my main problem is that the glasses are fancy and the dishes in my opinion aren't as fancy. Fh wanted something with a plain band, and I like the Lennox Opal Innocence so we compromised. I tried to find a closeup pic of the Herald Square dishes but I couldn't. The detail on them is little raised squares around the edge of the plates. I'm thinking maybe we should've picked something with just a plain band like fh suggested. I need to make a decision quick before people start buying things for our engagement party. Please help!

I may not be the best person to answer this, as I don't like the stemware. I think a simple glass would be more elegant. That is just my opinion, however I don't think it looks that bad. I want to see more detail on the china pieces, but i don't think its terrible.

Maybe take a look at this: (This is the pattern I choose)

It still has the band around it like you want, but the design on it is a little more prominent and more elegant looking. If I had to pair the glasses with anything, I would look at this pattern, but i think your pattern is fine too.

We picked the same stemware! I love the way it looks together.

You might want to look into the Noritake Montvale pattern...it's got a pattern but it's not as conspicuous as some of the Lenox designs

My photo isn't very good...check it out on the website or in person

I like what you chose! We were considering that too.
We chose Royal Doulton Precious Platinum, but now I'm doubting the choice to because I think
1. Its too busy and
2 Its too $$$ -- $129 a setting
FH, believe it or not, is in love with it and doesn't want to change!
Just know, its normal to doubt it. This guy at Macy's said to me 'I've been married 10 years and we used the china maybe 5 times, relax , it doesn't matter!'
How funny!
