China, towels, etc.

China, towels, etc.

Most of you do NOT live w/ your FH. I do, but we're moving to NY in 2007 after the wedding. I'm looking at my registry and I have no idea what china, dishes, towels, etc. to choose 'cause I don't know what my color theme will be in my new home. How did you girls decide?

I havent decided. I am in the same situation. I dont live with FH yet so I dont know where we will be moving into and what colors and stuff to get...so I just didnt add that to my registry..

ETA: I guess you can go with neutral colors which might match with anything

right now im in the same predicament. we are gonna hold off on putting that stuff( towels and linens) on the registry until we know what our house tones will be.

hmm, i definitely would not hold off on towels and linens. I think your best bet is to register for nuetral colors.
Fi an i are saving for a house right after the wedding so we have no clue what we will end up with, however we will need the necessities like towels and linens and dishes- it will just be too expensive to buy it on our own on top of other things we will need spruce up the house.
register for what you like.
for towels, do white, beige and sage- even if you end up with a pink and blue bathroom- would you really want pink and blue matching towels? hell no!! you can always buy a hand towel and finger tip towel that will coordinate with your bathroom- your bath towels doesnt necessarily have to match the bathroom.
as for bedroom, again, keep it simple and whites and ivories for the summer and taupe or browns for the fall/winter.

and plates, well, your everyday plates really do not have to match your kitchen walls.. so just register everything you like that you think will stand the test of time...

good luck!! hth!!

My every day china has a lot of different colors in it, so I think it will match any kitchen we eventually end up in and my formal china is all neutral colors.

I haven't registered for the towels yet, but I would stick with neutral colors. Or just pick colors you like. You can always change them over time.

We got neutral, something that would go w/ us if we moved etc.... We chose Lenox Opal Innocence for our china. For towels, we just asked for neutral colors also.
