Hi! I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me - I called Sans Souci this weekend and I am still confused on a few things. Are you using the chair covers? Are they charging you? I remember Lou telling me they were extra and it even says that in the brochure but the lady I spoke to on Sat. said they were no charge.
Also, the cake...I just found out that many items (e.g.: some fillings) cost extra. Was your cake considered an upgrade?
One more question...Are you extending the reception? I was thinking about it because it is a Friday and most people might not make it to cocktail hour on time.

Hi there Meg. We had many of the same questions. We initially dealt with Lou when booking, however, now that we are in our final 2 or so weeks, all info we’ve be getting have come through Carol. She is very helpful (as was Lou). The chair covers, even though the brochure says they’re additional, are included. Lou crossed that off in our brochure. You have the option to use them or not – we are. We also chose ivory linens to sort of keep the colors the same, since we don’t necessarily have a color scheme.
We did our cake choices with Carol at the time of our menu choices. Never once did Carol mention anything about any filling being extra $. She gave us the cake flavors, then rattled off several fillings, including chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, fruits, tiramisu, cannoli. Since we went for the basic (chocolate cake, white chocolate mousse filling), I guess it didn’t involve extra. Maybe the tiramisu or cannoli are? We did buttercream icing too, maybe if we chose fondant that would be extra? I don’t know, however, like I said, Carol never mentioned additional cost. We are including additional desserts by adding on crepes with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce, but that’s stated as such in the brochure.
I am not extending our reception – basically, we are a Saturday afternoon, and the Sans Souci told us the time frame was from 12-5. However, our Mass is at 11:30, so they were able to push us back to 1-6. They have another party coming in after us at 7 p.m., so we couldn’t, even if we wanted to. Another factor preventing us from doing that is the band has another gig that night, so at 6 p.m., they are basically done with us and have to move on. In your situation on a Friday night, if you can cover OT charges, it might be a good idea.
