Choco. Strawberries

Choco. Strawberries

Anyone know where I could find inexpensive chocolate covered strawberries. I'm thinking of adding this to the dessert since I'm not having a choco fountain :(.

Thanks!

My reception location offers these, maybe yours does too? If not look online or in bakeries around your neighborhood or maybe roosevelt field mall??.. they are very popular these days...they should'nt be hard to find.

Or if you like to cook, or someone you know does.. they could make them for you.. I made them a few years back and covered them with crushed hazelnuts..they were YUMMY!!!

I don't think my hall offers them. It would be an extra from me.

defintly check local bakeries or if your getting the cake from an outside vendor try going to them they may give you a better deal

You could definitely make them yourself. They are so easy to do and they taste awesome! And I would like you could save a lot of money doing this. Even try to get a few BM's together one night to help you.

OK, if I made them or had someone else make them - how long before the big day? I don't want to be doing it the day before. Do I just refirgerate them then?

curliegirl - do you make them as a biz?

Not a biz, just a passion.

You cannot make them ahead of time, the chocolate will separate from the strawberry and the chocolate will sweat from the moisture of the berry. They will not be pretty.

I actually make them all the time for special occasions. I made pink and blue striped ones for my SIL's baby shower, and a bunch for my mom's friend's birthday.

FM me if you want, I would love to help you.

You can make them yourself or go to a chocolate shop - like Schokolad (I know they have a website)

it all depends on what 'inexpensive' is to you. i totally understand what you are saying about the fountain-- the CHEAPEST I've seen renting it, and some halls don't even allow that, is like $700.

so if compared to those prices cheap to you is anywhere from $60 up to about $100... depending on how many guests you are having-- i know this great place that makes up arrangements and they look so pretty, maybe you could call them and explain the situation and they can customize something for you. i love their work!! they have locations all over LI (one i know of in particular in commack).

here's a link to get an idea of what their smaller arrangements look like and I came up with the 60-100 dollar range based on how much the smaller ones are on the website and figured double that for a large amount of guests at a wedding-- see what they can do for you!! they are VERY accomodating....

I've seen them at COstco. I don't know how expensive they are but everything at COstco is very reasonable.
