Re: Chocolate Chip Cookies you can cut out?

I'm going to make cupcakes for all of my kids this year... about 85 kids plus all the teachers on my floor but I wanted to make something different for the secretaries. I'm crazy, I know... surprisingly I dont have a recipe for cut out chocolate chip cookies. Regular ones, yes of course but not cut outs. This will consume my weekend!

I have a good recipe for pumpkin chocolate chip cookies that I think will roll out fairly easily but I dont know if that's quite what you're looking for.

I would just make a regular bath of them and then roll it all out on a cookie sheet and cut away...use a rolling pin to even it all out.

I dont think that would work because think of how you put them on the cookie sheets - in spoonfuls and then they spread while they're cooking. A regular batch would make them spread while they're cooking and ruin the shapes.

'08er crashing.

What if you made a chewy choc chip recipe, and then cut them out after they were baked. Maybe make larger cookies, and then cut the shape you wanted.

Re: Chocolate Chip Cookies you can cut out Update: Found one Recipe inside!

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg yolk
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels, divided
1 pkg. (16 oz.) prepared vanilla frosting, colored if desired

Directions:
BEAT butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract and salt in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in egg yolk. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in 1 1/2 cups morsels. Divide dough in half; cover. Chill for 1 hour or until firm.

ROLL half of dough to 1/4-inch thickness between two sheets of waxed paper. Remove top sheet of waxed paper. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Lift from waxed paper; place on ungreased baking sheets. Chill for 10 minutes. Repeat with remaining dough.

BAKE in preheated 350° F. oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Spread with frosting; pipe with melted chocolate.

TO PIPE CHOCOLATE: Place remaining morsels in heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; knead. Microwave for additional 10 seconds; knead until smooth. Cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to pipe chocolate.

Really good! Go make them!
