If I were to order godiva chocolate now for my May wedding do you think the chocolate will still be good?
I can get them a really good price now and I'd like to order them but dont want them to be stale, I didn't think chocolate goes bad so I figured I'd ask my girls........TIA

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
i believe even chocolate has an expiration date so i would try to hold off on it. The chocolate may have turned a lighter color by the time your wedding rolls around

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
Chocolate doesn't go bad per say it just gets that white spotty coating on it. I would wait until a month or two before.

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
chocolate usually has a 6 month shelf life then it befins to get thoes white spots. i did notice that anytime i got godiva it did stay fresher longer.

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
I'm nervous because I don't want it to go bad, and I didn't even think about those little white spots - but it's for the godiva milk chocolate bars and I was going to get them the end of November and my wedding it in May so you are talking just about 6 months.
Maybe is there somewhere I can call to find out about godiva's shelflife....I would think Hershey would be the same right?

i would see if they place you are getting them from will honor a sale price a few months down the road.. if not i would keep doing some research and check back with your place in a few months.

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
yeah, it can def get spots - it does depend on if it is sealed and boxed or loose and open. . the boxed willl stay way longer but you could wait - I would also try calling them and seeing if you can purchase now and have a delayed delivery - that might work!
My exes sister worked for godiva and we used to get free ones all the time - don't wish I still had the ex but wish I could still hook you up!!

Re: Chocolate Favor Question
i don't know i would be a bit afraid. That is me though and i am very weird with having food sitting around. I cant even eat left overs after the 2nd day.
Also would depend on where you can keep it in your house, the room would have to stay at a certain temperature, not sure what the perfect temperature is to store chocolate but something to really consider. They can end up melting
