Chocolate fountain question- where does it go? and when?

Ok, me and FH have cut out STDs, flowers in the church and have downgraded on the invitations to make room in our budget for the chocolate fountain. I told my mom and she brought up a good point.

Do you have to ask your hall's permission?

Where does it go? Does the hall lend you a little table or something?

Is is out for dessert only?

Thanks!

I would ask the catering hall as a courtesy, but I dont see them giving you a hard time about it. I would imagine you can use it for either the cocktail hour (because of the fruit) or dessert. Or have them for both!! Hey, why not?

When I called our hall about this they said that they will provide a table with the appropriate linens. The company providing the fountain must fill out some sort of form showing proof that they have insurance for liability purposes.

Tom at Audrey's explained that he will come & set it up/take it down & man it for 1 hour while the cake is being served. He brings the food & munchies to dip but you can have the hall provide it (for an extra fee I'm sure) and he'll discount his price if he doesnt have to include the food.

What is a chocolate Fountain?

Got this off of a web site.

The American Chocolate Fountain™ is a delicious feature, sure to enhance wedding receptions, parties, catered events or any dessert buffet. Warm, aromatic chocolate fondue cascading over three stainless steel tiers. This chocolate fountain will deliver the incredibly rich smell and flavor of delectable chocolate fondue. Just add your favorite chocolate, fruit, marshmallows, cookies, pretzels for chocolate dipping.

I've been to a wedding where it is part of the cocktail hr...i would love it, but it costs a lot...Im afraid of getting chocolate on my dress ...We will do it if we have extra money at the end...Our hall offers it themselves...some do..

Where did you find a chocolate fountain? Is the hall providing it or are you renting it from somewhere? I'm having my reception at eastwind and would like to have a fountian.

I would think at most halls with the amount of food you get through the night that would be too much.

We are doing our cake, and pastries and the chocolate fountain.
