Re: choosing a cruise

I have never been on the Carnival Cruise line before, but I went on the Royal Caribbean. I thought the Royal Caribbean was a really great cruise line to go on. My parents also have been on their crusie and really enjoyed it. We are also thinking of booking our honeymoon with a crusie to the Southern Caribbean with Royal Caribbean. Good luck with your choice.

I've been on both and they are both good cruise lines. The biggest difference is the people. RC tends to have older couples and families with older children. Carnival has alot of families with young kids and alot of singles. The only time it makes a difference is at night. On carnival, you'll get alot of people at the bars & clubs whereas on RC, things tend to be quieter.

I have been on a Carnival Cruise and I loved it. We had the greatest time and would definately use them again. Many people don't like them and refer to them as a 'Party CruiseLine' but we didn't find that at all. Yes there were some people who were partying but they had a lot of other fun activities to do and the food was amazing. For our honeymoon we book Royal Carriebean b/c we heard great things about them and the cruise that we booked.

Re: choosing a cruise

I've been on 4 cruises (3 Carnival and 1 Royal Caribbean). All were very nice.

The 2 Carnival cruises we took the Caribbean (Eastern and Western). The Paradise (non-smoking ship) was brand new when we sailed and it was excellent. The Triumph (also new) was huge and it took me a whole week to figure my way around it. The food was good on both ships and the entertainment is superb. We went in the summer and yes, there are a lot of kids on board. They say the average cruise age is 45, but there are a lot of families on board.

The 1 Royal Caribbean Cruise we took was to Bermuda on the Nordic Empress. The NE was a smaller ship than the 2 Carnival ones and the crowd was much older. The food was excellent on this ship too.

My FH and I prefer Carnival, although I've heard the newer Royal Caribbean ships are incredible, they are of course more money.

Hope this helps.

Karen
