choosing wedding party?Help

I want your opinions. See my fiance`s sister is going to be in the wedding party, but NOT his brothers wife. I do not feel close to her and she's a little on the bossy side. Does anyone think its wrong or improper etiquette to leave her out?

To me its fine if you aren't close.

Once you started reaching out like that, you'll end up with a parade instead of a bridal party.

The first thing I did when I got engaged was
THROW OUT THE ETTIQUITE BOOK!!! Burn it if you have to. I'm not following the tradional way of doing things for a wedding and if you don't want to then you shouldn't.

I am including only my family and his- not anyone married into the family to avoid this dilemma.

It's your wedding and you should choose those that you feel close to and for them to be there for you on your special day. That's why I think later on some brides start complaining about having the bridal party from hell because they get people just to have more people than end up giving headaches..this does not happen all the time but it does happen plenty of time....So choose carefully...you really get to see a lot of people true colors when planning a wedding. I've been fortunate enough to have a wonderful, loving bridal party. Good Luck and choose wisely.

I think that's fine. I pretty much did the same thing. I asked my FSIL to be a BM, but I didn't ask FBIL's girlfriend, now fiance. She and I are not friends and I wouldn't honor her by asking her to play such an important role in my day.

Seems fine to me. I wouldn't even worry about it.
