Choosing your battles

Choosing your battles

I have two MOHs, a sister and best friend. My best friend is doing all of the work. She's organizing the batchelorette party, and she put together the decor/flowers for my shower. My mom and best friend were at the shower early to set everything up. My mom said she tried to get my sister to come and help but my sister said she had to feed her son dinner, who is 8. Of course, her husband could have done this or she could have done this earlier. I'm sure these situations happen all of the time. If you were unhappy with a family/bridal party member not putting any effort into your wedding, did you talk to them about it? And if you did, did any good come out of it?

Also, my other sister is nuts. I'm actually wondering if she has a personality disorder. She says that I deeply hurt her because I didn't call her back once three years ago. She also thinks once I (in her words) 'Got a man' I wasn't interested in having a relationship with her anymore. This is completely false, and she has no facts to back it up. She actually hasn't called me back numerous times, she was a complete ******* when I asked her to be in my bridal party. She didn't call me back at all, and then after I called her again and politely asked about it, she said she was too busy to meet up to talk and I would have to come to her. She has no concept of how she treats other people, I'm wondering if she's even dilusional. Sadly, I've accepted that she's just unreasonable and cannot work things out at the moment, and also that she only brings negativity into my life when she is around. I wish her well and hope someday it will change.
I don't want to not invite her to my wedding though, I think it's not the right thing to do. And I want to leave the door open in hopes for the future. However, she's such an *******. At my shower I did all the appropriate things. Said hello to her, thanked her for her gift, and at the end thanked her for coming. For some reason she responded really sarcastically making a face 'OH WELL THANKS FOR HAVING ME!' What the hell dude.
My parents can't talk to her, she doesn't get along with them. So what do I do with miss crazy at the wedding, sit her on the other end of the room and just avoid even going over or thanking her for coming? I don't want to deal with her crap anymore. Thanks.

Um let me say i have one bridesmaid that is the shittiest bm ever....she basically avoids asking me about my wedding and started drama the day we were going away for the bachelorette party and didnt end up coming!....Now this scenario i really could have cared less about, she was 100% wrong you just dont do that on the day of someones bparty and if she had dropped out bc of it I would have said thank god....but she chose to apologize and take the high road but she is still in my book a really ****** person, so to not avoid drama thats the end of that but after the wedding i dont think we will be bff anymore.

But in these scenarios it's your family and I think its a little different, I would tryyy and talk to her and if shes holding onto a grudge from 3 years ago a phone call you missed or something I would just ask her...'cant we move forward and try to have a good relationship, i really want you included, lets start over forget about the past' <

Thank you. There are two sisters. The first it's really a smaller issue, I'm just wondering if I should bring up that I wish she was more involved or if I shouldn't because it just puts a damper on things. The second one, believe me I have tried. I've been the bigger person. I asked to meet up in person to talk about things and she wouldn't but kept emailing back. When I said my point of view she didn't respond to it, but just said she's sorry I'm so intent on proving her wrong, that she's found god and serenity and hopes that I can too. Ironically, the next time I saw at her at the shower she barked at me for no reason when I thanked her for coming, so I'm not sure about her finding serenity. The emails were emotionally draining and lasted over a week back and forth. She is completely unreasonable.

I don't think it's even worth it saying anything to your MOH sister, IMHO. I have 2 maids of honors -a bff and a sister, and it's my bff who does more also. I just accept it for what it is. Not worth the drama!!
