Danielle and I are looking for a good recipe for Chopped turkey. I am on low carb, so I cannot eat any breading or tomato sauce. If anyone knows of any recipes, please let us know...
Thanks,

Re: chopped turkey

I don't really follow low-carb rules .. but here's some ideas .. don't be afraid to mess around with them or experiment.

I sautee the turkey with onions and mushrooms .. add in some Wishbone Just 2 Good Honey Dijion dressing .. stuff into peppers and bake.

Sautee turkey with onions and mushrooms, salt & pepper, toss in pine nuts.

Marinate turkey in white wine. Combine turkey with finely chopped onions and mushrooms, and a few handfuls of Stove Top stuffing mix, chicken flavor. Form into mini loaves and place in a glass dish for baking. Mix Just 2 Good Honey Dijion dressing with honey .. and brush over the loaves.

Sorry .. I'm not one to follow recipes or really write them down .. I do as I go .. so this is the best I go do in putting it to actual writing.

Re: chopped turkey

You can make chili with it...

I just brown chopped meat (in your case Turkey) with some finely chopped onion. Then add a can of tomato sauce, chopped pepper and chopped tomato. Add whatever seasoning you like - I use chili powder, garlic salt and some hot flaked pepper (sometimes I add a chopped chili pepper). Add a can of beans and simmer for about 20 minutes or so.

Re: chopped turkey

Turkey Burgers? OR Turkey meatloaf? Here's how I make low carb meatloaf ..guess you could substitute the hamburger for turkey.

Ground Beef
Low Carb Ketchup
Low Carb A-1 (yay! They make this now!)
Egg
Seasonings

Gravy (optional)

Mixed all together and place on cookie sheet or shallow baking pan. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes.

I also sometimes make brown gravy from McCormick...you just add water and it's 1 carb per serving.

I also serve it with Mashed Cauliflower.

Let me know if you need anymore info!

No problem...I am always looking for new recipes too. Low carb can be an easy diet if you can just get enough variety.

I'm sorry .. like I said .. I don't follow low-carb rules .. but would be interested if someone wanted to share some more of what's okay .. and what's a no-no.

Re: chopped turkey

Well if you are doing low carb you can eat all meats.....eggs, cheese...but not too much, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, broccoli, aspargus, brussel sprouts, other green veggies, Strawberries, Blue Berries, Rasberries, Melon....Water, honey dew, canteloup.....etc

Cut out Sugar....Use Splenda instead. Avoid Sweet and Low because it stalls weight loss.

In coffee use Half and Half instead of milk and flavored Sweetners....because Half and Half has no carbs, and no sugar.

You can have Reddi Whip....Whipped Cream...Has less than 1g carbs and no sugar.

If you do eat Flour products avoid White Flour and only eat Wheat Flour....Brown foods are better for you. White foods turn into sugar. You can have wheat bread, multi grain bread, whole wheat pasta, and brown rice. I dont eat any of those products though.

Here is a sample day for me:

Breakfast
2 Egg and American Cheese Omelette with Well Done Bacon and Low Carb Bagel with Butter.

Lunch
Lettuce wraps with turkey, cheese and mustard
Celery sticks with Blue Cheese Dressing
Diet Pepsi. (I cut my soda down to 1 a day or 0 a day...Only diet soda. Otherwise drink plenty of water.)

Snack
Gum

Dinner
Steak, Chicken, Fish, Turkey grilled with veggies and salad. The salad consists of lettuce, gorgonzola cheese, oil and vinegar.

Snack
Sugar Free Jello or Pudding with Reddi Whip
or
Low Carb Frozen yogurt with Sugar free chocolate chips
or
Low carb ice cream
or
Strawberries or other allowed fruit.
