christening plans

ok got this all done in the last 2 weeks- hard to get things done with my little one!!

- ceremony is set. Will be at a church w/ the priest that married us.He will do the blessing/baptism
..plus with a cantor who will officiate and cover the Jewish ceremony. For girls, it is a baby-naming ceremony- her name is proclaimed to the attendees- in Hebrew.

- Deposit at restaurant. We went with a China Buffet place that has a separate party room.
With about a head count of 60 people, all who eat different things, we felt this was our best option.
Plus it will cost us about 55% of what the other places were quoting.

- Invites? wanted to do something online but hubby said it would take too much time and use up too much color ink-hehe. So I have to pick up plain invites and fill out the info. Will have an insert explaning the interfaith ceremony and have directions to the church and restaurant.

- FAVORS??? don't know what to do. Like the idea of the candy wrappers. Is that a separate publishing program that needs to be uploaded? Anyone have any information on this?
....
Otherwise any other ideas for PRACTICAL favors??

I hate to spend the $$ and the time and it winds up a dust collector or in the trash.
(for my baby shower my sil-s wound up getting a great deal on beautiful picture frames and gave them as favors)

Outfit? I 'THINK' I found the christening outfit that I wore...will have to try it on Julianne to see if it fits now let alone will fit her in April!

Feedback?

Re: christening plans

I think having your daughter wear your gown is beautiful. I was Christened in the same gown that my grandmother (and my mom and aunts) was Christened in. I plan on (fingers crossed) someday having my daughter wear it to.

Favors- ask Claud where she got her choc. bars from. They were super cute. You don't have to have favors if you are trying to save $$$. You can wrap hersey kisses in tulle and put 'Kisses from Julianne' on a tag. That would be inexpensive and cute.
