How long does the ceremony take - my cousin's just took 35 minutes (Greek Orthodox Ceremony) but someone told me that they can last as an hour. What has been your experience? I want my ceremony all in Greek so that should save some time in the repeating because of translation.

Re: Christian Orthodox weddings
Olga, I timed a Greek wedding at St. Nick's in Flushing a couple of weeks ago. It lasted exactly 45 min. Although some of it was in English, Fr. Paul didn't translate what he was saying, he just alternated the prayers bet. Greek and English. He gave his little sermon in the middle of the ceremony, which was interesting. Quite honestly, 35 minutes seems unusally short.

I had mine at St. Nicks too and it was about 45 minutes. My uncle, cousin, and Fr. John did the ceremony, mostly in English and they never repeated anything over, and it was about 45 - 50 minutes with the little speech and everything.
