Christie's in Bay Terrace

I have a party to go to in a few weeks & I was thinking of going to Christie's to get my hair & makeup done.

Who should I request??

Does anyone have pictures of the work they've done?

I'm sorry....but I hate that place. I used to go there when I first moved to Bayside. I hate the way they make you feel like cattle....they don't know who you are...and they put that little slip of paper in your sleeve....

exactly. I went once and only once.
I wasn't impressed for the prices they charge!!! (it was just a one time emergency cut when my regular salon was booked up)

I just went for the first time last month..
I felt horrible when I got ther..
They do treat you like cattle..
but then my hairdresser was AWESOME!
It was a guy from Texas..Laverne or something like that. Since it was my 1st time he had them do my make-up for free also. The girl who did it was really good. If you can get past the receptionist and get to a good hairdresser it is good. Even the guy who did my hair was saying they are a little nasty when you first come in. I didn't think the prices were bad either...I think my haircut was $45..which is good to me!

I had my hair done there for a wedding that I was the MOH on but it was a few years ago. They did a really good job but I can't recommend a person because it was so long ago. The bride also got her hair done there and her makeup. I thought they did a great job on the bride. My hair looked great but it was 100% what i did not want. Everyone loved it and I got tons of compliments but when they did my hair they did not face me towards a mirror - by the time I saw it it was too late and I didn't want to complain or get the bride upset so I went with it. I went like 3 years ago and it was $75 plus tax and tip and that was for bridesmaid. For my wedding my salon only charged like 50-60 for the bride!

Can you girls recommend a salon for an up-do in the Queens/Nassau area with phone #'s? I live in Douglaston, so I don't want the place to be too far into LI, but on the other hand, I don't want it to be too far in Queens, I'm right on the border. Suggestions?
