What are you getting the little ones for Christmas. Lyla will be 6 months just before so I will be able to get her toys that are 6 months and up. I was thinking of these:
My baby isn't due until April but I will probably buy him or her an outfit anyway.

I'm getting those blocks for Sean, too Niha! I love them!! I just got the FP catalog last week. So much fun stuff!! I'm thinking of getting him the Step & Play piano (he loves music!) as his 'big' gift. I'm not sure, though, since he already has an exersaucer. It may be a waste of $80.
Like Phyl, we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas so he'll be getting lots of little things!
We already bought him 2 Baby Einstein books and we'll get a DVD, and we bought him the Lion King DVD (well, that was more for mommy )... I'll get him a few more books as well as a bunch of toys.
I can't wait to watch him eat the wrapping paper and ignore the gifts!

Re: Christmas
My little one is going to be only a few weeks old. I got him/her a Fisher Price little toy and the Baby Eistein art book. I am not sure what else we are going to get him/her.

Re: Christmas
Niha, we have the LeapFrog Learning Table (Paul got it from Santa last Christmas) and he STILL loves it! Just so you're aware...since Lyla is small, you can hold off on attaching the legs, and she can play with it as 'tummy time'
I am a HUGE fan of all the LeapFrog toys...I think the people who make them are geniuses and must really, really understand children and how they all learn different (auditory/visual, etc).

Re: Christmas
Im with Claud - Leapfrog products are THE BEST!!! Emma has her table too. And she still plays with it. There is a new book for smaller kids that teachs Leap Frog things. Its on the site for 6-36 month olds. Also Baby Tad is a favorite around here. Stacking cups are always good.

Karen - do you know that I cannot find that thing in any of the toy stores? Amazon has it, but I'm holding off on ordering until I figure out what other gifts I might need. I don't want to place more than one order!
And JennRenee - if you're reading this...the leapbook for infants has an accessory that is the story of 'Guess How Much I Love You' I thought of you!

Re: Christmas
I think we are getting him just a few things - a wagon for one. He loves Megabloks and building stuff so something along those lines. We have alot of aunts & uncles so I know I told my one SIL that if they want to do a 'chip in' (popular in DH's family) they can get him the toybox I have my eye on.
Myother SIL said they are getiing him the Little People Garage... but I might persuade them otherwise. He has the LP Zoo and he's not really into it. He really likes those building things - he gets this look of concentration on his face LOL it's very cute.
Baby stuff changes so fast sometimes, I think those blocks must be brand new.

Re: Christmas
Camille, I will look for that cookie jar, I like the idea of soemthing that teaches language.
Glad to hear the good review of leapfrog.
Stacey, I think the step and play is great, but doesn't it serve the same purpose as the excersaucer (except that you can use the step and play until they are older and can stand)?

Re: Christmas
Liz, we are getting Paul a wagon too! I also want Santa to bring him his first snow sled I already bought him a tool set and some new books. I think his Fla. grandparents are buying an activity table and some crafts/activities to go with it.
Paul's NY grandparents are buying a ton of stuff, but the one item I know he's gonna just LOVE will be a toy vacuum...NO JOKE...the kid is obsessed with the real vacuum to the point that you have to HIDE it b/c if he sees it, then there's no tearing him away from it. It's sooo funny, but my younger brother was the EXACT same way with the vacuum as a child.

Re: Christmas
LOL Claud about the vaccum - Luke loves the Swiffer. My SIL made the handle really small on hers and he looks for it at her house.
Maybe we can get these boys working for us

Re: Christmas
Since Annalise's birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas we got her a bunch of things to be split between the 2 events. We got her some simple books to teach words, colors and animals. I also want to get her some Spanish books and a book of children's bible stories. We got her 4 wooden puzzles in a case with pegs attached so she can easily handle them. Any ideas of other educational toys for a 1 year old are appreciated. My DH insisted on a See n Say. I got the Barnyard Animal version.

Re: Christmas
Victoria, Paul was given that same See n Say for Christmas last year. He likes it, and he's learned that the cow says 'moo', the dog says, 'woof woof.' The Little People Zoo taught him that they lion says, 'roar!'
Peg puzzles are GREAT - we just gave Lukie one as part of his bday gift (of a fire engine, of course!) Like I mentioned above, the LeapFrog toys are fantastic to help them learn counting, ABC's and colors. Paul also has a Rock and Play Piano by Fisher Price that he loves...it has classical music and the key light up when he hits them. Here's a photo of it:

Re: Christmas
I have no idea what I could possibly get my baby for Christmas. It already has tons of clothes and every baby toy known to mankind, and it's not even born!
Books are a definite, and beyond that...

Re: Christmas
Thanks for the suggestions Claud. I did forget to mention a Little People book we got her with animals. You pull up the tabs to see what is under them.
Odd-Job has some really nice books and educational toys for anyone looking to save a buck. I went to the one in Lake Success and bought some things I has gotten at BRU the day before. They were so much cheaper that I returned the originals to BRU. One book was $5.95 at BRU and Odd Job had it for $1.97.

Re: Christmas
I have found similar bargains at the supermarket (of all places) and at Marshall's. It is hit or miss usually, but the prices are ALWAYS better than any 'R Us' stores.
