my fmil usually has christmas eve at her house, but this year were going to fh aunts house. christmas day i spend at my family's.

We do none of the big celebrations.

My sister and I leave all of our wrapping till christmas eve while we listen to the carols on z100...a tradition that becomes hard at times but is so hard to break!

We also go to midnight mass which is absolutely beautiful!

I miss being a child though...putting out cookies for Santa, putting baby jesus in the manger (although we still do that), and my mom video taping...

The best part of the tradition though..our christmas pajamas! My mom gives all of us including my husband..brand new christmas pj's with special socks to match! Its an awesome feeling..SO COZY!

Anthony and I have started our own tradition of opening each others stockings after midnight though..no other gifts..just our stockings to each other..its so nice..with a nice glass of wine..I cant wait..although this year is kind of hard.

My mom comes over for lunch. My best friend and her family come over for appetizers. At 8pm, we head over to my Aunts for a seafood feast.

Every year, I swear that I am going to go to midnight mass but I never make it. Oh well, maybe this year.

My mom, sister & BIL come over for breakfast and I open my birthday gifts...later that night, FH & I go to his mom's house and have the huge Italian fish dinner and watch watch all the kids open up the gifts we've all given them.

It's a long night with a lot of people (FH is 1 of 7 so with kids it's 22-24 people/kids)...but it's fun no matter hoe many times I insist I'd rather ceebrate my b/day another way.

We usually go to my youngest sister's house because Christmas Eve is also my youngest neice's birthday. However last year my two youngest sisters decided to get into a huge fight so this year we are all just staying home.

Xmas Eve we always go to my in-laws. It is tradition, and then we go to my family for Xmas day.

Christmas Eve was my family's gift night...Santa would come this night as well - we would go look at lights with my dad while my mom would put out the gifts...

this is also the reason I knew there was no santa in kindergarten...since everyone around me got their gifts the next morning...i knew something was up...

I'm sad I won't be at my moms this year...but I will be with MIL...so it should be good...my poor mom is sad though...

We do Xmas eve with my family. I am hosting it this year. My family is smaller but its really nice, we have all hors d'ouervres type food, play christmas music and enjoy the kids. Sadly, DH has to work the Xmas eve. We've been lucky though, its his first time in the last 6 years. I will have to hide Lukes presents from Santa till DH gets home Christmas morning.

Christmas day is with DH's family and it's huge - lots of nieces and nephews!!

Wendy, Im sorry to hear a family rift is keeping your family apart this year.

There is anywhere from 15-30 people at my grandmother's house for a typicall Italian Xmas Eve, fish and more fish.

About 14 people gather at my aunt's house for the typical fish spread and we open our 'Secret Santa' gifts. We make it a long night with games, kareoke, etc. and have been known to drive home with the sun coming up.

Lots of presute (sp) that ham stuff (jewish girl here) and mozerella cheese and good italian bread. Have some for breakfast x-mas morning too.

We usually have christmas eve at our house or we had been going to Dale's step-family's house but being his mom and step father divorced, we won't be going there. This year will be the first year without my grandma so it will be tough for us. But I love christmas eve so much better than christmas day.
