Christmas snow stinks!!!!! :(

I swear I just had the worst Christmas ever!!! I went to my FH's aunts house. Well it started snowing and my FH had to go to work to plow and sand the roads. Im just so upset because I want to be with HIM on X-mas. So I'm stuck there with his family and his aunt starts in with me. Shes like arent you worried about him driving in this? Your never getting home!! You wont see him tonight!! Hasnt he called you yet?? UGH!!! I went in the bathroom and just cryed. It was so awful. SO THEN, it turned out my FH went to work with the car keys. Leaving me stranded!! with the crazy aunt!! So finally his brother offered to take me home, and i was so happy. But i miss him so much... what is christmas with out the one you love??

I'm soooo sorry that this happened to you and I agree when you say 'wht is Christmas without your loved ones'

My FH works for ConEd and he use to ALWAYS work the holidays (gets paid double time) but I have made just one request and that is that he not work xmas & Thanksgiving and he is a doll and said ok! I ALWAYS hated it when he worked!

Our plans got ruined for the evening as well. We were supossed to go to my aunts along with the other 40 members of my family-but she lives out in suffolk about 20 -30 minutes from us on a good day so we knew it was not smart @ 5:30 to venture out in this! I was dissapointed but we still had a wonderful Christmas!

Kimmie-that really stinks what happened to you! Thankfully, your FH is ok though!

It took us an hour to get to his aunts in brooklyn and we live in Queens. A 20 minute ride, took us an hour. That ****ed. Coming home wasnt so bad, but there are so many idiots on the roads so we took it nice and slow and were actually home in 30 minutes.

I hate snow. This morning it took me 30 minutes to walk to the train. NOrmally that takes me 10 minutes, but people dont shovel, and the sidewalk is slippery, and i walk really slow when its like that because I dont want to fall.

Last night was bad and Im glad that everyone got home safe. People cant drive in that type of weather. It took us an hour to get home on a trip htat is usually 10 minutes. Sunrise Highway was mobbed.

Snow messed me up too, we were late to dinner at my Dad's house, and this morning even though I was driving super slow, I skid 3 times on the way to work, I was so scared

Kimmie- I know how you feel, it took us an hour to get home from my grandparents and my FH had to go put the plow on the truck and get fuel. When he finally got home he went to bed and was out at 2am. And then when he got back he had to get up for work at 8am. Poor baby!

Ok, well FH got home at 7am!!! I never saw him again , now i wont see him until 5:30 today!! thanks everyone for writing back!! Hopefully it doesnt snow next year :( we will only be married a month!! I guess everyone wishes for a white christmas but me!! lol

Last night was crazy!!! but luckily we were only 10 minutes away from home. This morning I came in 2 hours late and tonight we are canceling hours so I get to go home early.....YAY!!!!!!!!

Glad I'm not the only one who had a crappy commute home last night. I decided to take my Aunts Caravan to FI's house in Howard Beach ( I live in Staten Island). The snow got so bad that FI said he would drive the caravan and his father will follow in his truck. As soon as we got on the Belt Parkway we lost all electrical systems in the car, no lights no wipers no gauges NADA! We pulled off on to Rockaway parkway and tried to call AAA. After 2 hours on hold I get a hold of the meanest nastiest man. He told me that AAA is not going to send out any tow trucks because the weather is bad so I had 2 options, stay in the car and pray for a passing tow truck or call 911 if I feel my life is in danger...He tells me that he found a tow truck company that will come, I give him my location and about 10 minutes later the tow truck co. calls and said where are you on the Conduit? I was like I'm not at all near the conduit? I told him where I was and he said oh sorry cant come out there and hung up. My FSIL had been at home and called FI with a phone # of another tow truck, not only was the guy there in 10 mins, he only charged me $50.00 to tow the car back. I ended up getting home at about 2:00 this morning. I am now on hold again with AAA corporate headquarters to complain about the service and to cancel my membership.

I hate the snow anyway, thank god I'm moving to Florida in 2 weeks. I went to my sisters in Westchester, and it took me 1 hr and 45 minutes to get home. I wasn't in a rush, so I was going 25mph.

The last hour of the drive, I called up my FH and he talked to me while I drove home. It went by fast.

I love fresh fallen snow .. and how cool we finally had a white Christmas (sorry KimmieG), though it came pretty late.

The only thing I hate is the inconvenience the snow brings when you absolutely need to go out. And I was among those that needed to be working on Christmas .. and got stuck right in the heart of the storm on my journey in to the office! Not only was the trip in slow going (better safe than sorry), but my car then got stuck when I parked in the lot .. so not typical of my car!

I can attest to how lousy it is working on Christmas, and probably in the last 10 years, I've been working more than not working .. and believe me, there are many people right along with me who each and every year must also part with their families to do jobs that require getting done ... but it's the work we've chosen.

Sorry ladies to hear that you had a hard time!! I had a kind of bad christmas also...I stayed in the whole day b/c I am sick to begin with (kidney stones)...my fh went to NJ....a trip that should take 40 minutes at the most took him 3 hrs and 45 minutes!!! So I never got to see him :(

StayandJohn...I hope that you got to cancel that AAA membership...that was horrible....Kimmie...even though this years xmas didn't work out I hope next years will be better for you :)
