My wedding will be the saturday after thanksgiving in 2008. Since its the start of the holiday season, we are doing a christmas theme. I figure the girls will either where red or hunter green. Maybe mini Christmas trees as centerpieces. I would love any pictures or ideas some of you may have

Re: Christmas Theme
I'm getting married Dec. 8 and also doing a xmas theme. We're having the girls and groomsmen wear red, our drink of the night will be a poinsettia cocktail, we're using a poinsettia xmas tree for our centerpiece and giving out personalized xmas balls for our favor and wrapping them and putting them under the centerpiece, we're playing just xmas music for the CH and then a few songs in the reception, our RH decorates very nice for xmas for pictures, we're hiring a real looking santa and mrs clause to come ( not cheesy red outfits, they really look like santa! ) ummm the chairs will have white covers with red bows and the table will be red linens, we're going to name each table after a xmas person (santa, mrs clause, frosty the snowmen etc ) instead of numbering them, our cake will have red poinsettias on it instead of reg. flowers, our bo'ks will be red and white. Hmmm, I think that's all my ideas for now hehe. We also might hire our photographer to do a 'day after shoot' and go into Rockefeller Centre and take pics dressed up by the tree and rink etc. HTH.

Re: Christmas Theme
Hmm sooo many great christmas ideas out there-just google Christmas wedding themes and you'll have a ball.
Some things I have seen is the use of cranberries-sounds weird butit looks sooooo pretty. You fill containers with them and then add your flowers or candles.
Wreaths on the table with those red berries (id use fake ones) that have white candles resting on them-very cheap and so festive and thematic.
In this book I recently read they had great ideas that could be adapted. They took manzanita branches that basically look like tiny leafless trees, and then put gold leaf on them. They then glued red roses to the branches and mounted the bottom of the branch inside a lighting fixture base made of brass. I know it sounds weird but it was phenomenal. If I were having a winter wedding I would have taken that spray can snow and lightly coated parts of the branches and then maybe done a lighter coat of silver spray for sparkle. I would have glued white silk roses or hung votive candle holders from it with ribbon. SO PRETTY!
Another simple idea is taking a big glass bowl and filling it with those inexpensive pretty glass ball ornaments used for the christmas trees. SUrround it with garland and white candles and you're set.

Re: Christmas Theme
I was in Kohls the other day and they had picture holders and I totally can invision them as being place card holders. there was 4 to each set....they had snowmen, santa, reindeer......let me see if i can find a pic online for you.
Yes, my 08 girls were ontop of this. They are really cute. But its a little out of my price range. I'll check next week to see if the price goes down after Christmas because they are really cute. Thanks!

Re: Christmas Theme
I am also having a Christmas theme.
My BMs will either be in a wine color of hunter or emerald green depending on the dress we pick. The groomsmen will be matching the BMs as well.
I just met with my florist the other night. We are doing a hurricane candle with a christmas greens around it with red and white flowers, holly, etc. My bo-q will be all red roses and my BMs will be white with Christmas greens.
Our favors are also ornaments- we are going shopping the day after Christmas and getting all different ornaments and then I am going to buy a personalized ribbon to tie around them. We were thinking about hanging them on a tree for guests to take, but my mother thinks it might be more of a hassle for East Wind to set up, so I'm not sure yet what we want to do. I know they have a big tree in the lobby of the Estate area, so perhaps wrapping them and putting them under that tree- we shall see.
Those are my ideas as of right now. Oh also FH and I will be walking out of the church to Joy to the World and I am going to have a family friend sing Christmas carols before hand in the church.
Good luck!!
